Fri. Feb. 21, 2020 – finally Friday, yeah right, too soon

By on February 21st, 2020 in ebola, medical, prepping, WuFlu

Colder and wet.

Yesterday the rain held off but the temps dropped. I started in a rain shell but ended in a middle weight Carhart jacket..

I have another busy day today. Some auction stuff, the a call with my financial advisors, a call to a roofer about the hail damage from last year, and then more auction stuff.

The wind was really gusting last night. Tarps on the “inventory” in my driveway were all flapping around all night, setting off the motion detector lights. Cams recorded a lot of flapping…

Wuflu is taking off around the world. A couple of months I think, before it’ll be everywhere in large numbers, but things will start to get weird before that. We’ll also have a chance to see it die out, if that’s gonna happen. More and more people are starting to realize the supply chain issues. I expect some stuff will start to be in short supply immediately as savvier folks start buying for the long run.

Read the article Peter wrote in the link from yesterday and consider what else might affect your personal needs. This is the time to get ahead on your meds. Also the OTC stuff you might want, especially if you have to play “Dr. Mom” to anyone. Snivel gear too. Toothbrushes, beauty supplies, hygiene products, etc. Keep in mind you might want to or have to supply some other people outside your family too. Can you really say no when Mom asks if you know where to get a box of masks? or your kid’s school friends ask about AB soap?

There are some lines in the sand with prepping that really feel different when crossed. Buying fish meds, burying a cache, buying obstetrics textbooks for your library… those things mean you are considering something beyond the next hurricane or flood. Those are the sort of things that raise an eyebrow. Think about where you are in relation to those at the moment, and consider if it’s different from last month or last year. Where do you think you’ll be in a month if things continue as they are?

Food for thought should be accompanied by food for eating.

Keep stacking.

Hopefully we won’t see the true death rate, but I got a feeling we will. If china really has been underreporting deaths, South Korea is about to show the world the true rate.

Imagine that, you round up people off the street during an outbreak, for not wearing masks, and you get an outbreak in your prisons.

BTW – it’s Friday. Time to lighten up. Trump here last Wed and Bernie coming today. How’d we get so lucky? Trump talked to farmers and signed new water policy. Invite only through McCarthy and Nunes. Bernie will speak at ampitheater in park across from Cal State Uni Bakersfield, just his kind of crowd.

I live just down the street and have a treadmill at cardioligist about an hour before just east of that.. Try to route around but I doubt BS will cause the stir Rump did.

Oh yeah, the unibrow model. Seen her before.

All part of the prog left attempt to give everyone a psychosis by insisting that white is black, ugly is pretty, etc and insisting that people say out loud what they know to be a lie. Worked for the soviets… and they’re the model for the US lefty press.

That may be the model’s signature look, but the unibrow appears embellished/fake.

It’s the return of the freak show, only in lefty bizarro world it cloaks itself in “inclusiveness”.

In a world with Jenner posing nude for the cover of Sports Illustrated, a model with a unibrow signature look barely moves the needle.

The dumbocrats are angry at Trump for “abusing” his pardon power.

Total Presidential pardons / sentence commutations:

    Carter: 566
    Reagan: 406
    G. H. W. Bush: 77
    Cigar Bill: 459
    G. W. Bush: 200
    Obama: 1,927
    Trump: 22

Please, by all means, educate me on the abuse of power.

Somebody needs to tell her that something crawled on her face and died.

Is that a sign of too much inbreeding ?

Or is she 95% Neanderthal ?

  10. Ray Thompson says:

Or is she 95% Neanderthal ?

I am guessing 94.5% Neanderthal. But what do I know?

Taxes filed today. Last time I have to play games and deal with the unaffordable healthcare stuff. I have to contribute to an IRA again to keep the premiums down. $0.00 in taxable income. Last year that will happen. Filed electronically, electronic deposit, I expect the refund by next Friday.

So, in Minnesota it is legal to marry your brother while married to another man, who knew ? And do your four kids call him Dad or Uncle ?

  12. SteveF says:

Minnesota was jealous of Arkansas’s reputation. “After th’ deevorce, yeh’ll still be muh sister, aincha?”

It’s a federal crime to marry someone for the purpose of getting them entry into the US. I know, my mother almost did it before she married my dad. She knew a Hungarian who was fleeing Soviet Hungary and wanted into the US. Almost did it she told me.

    I’m kind of stumped here.

I last drove my 2002 Dodge p/u two weeks ago. Walking out today, the remote for the locks didn’t work. Unlocked the door with the key and no dome lights. What the ? The battery is maybe three months old.

So I tried to start it. After the usual hisses and hums and clickings, Varoom!! Like normal.

But no dome lights. No action on the instrument panel. Heat works. Windows work. Power mirrors work… have not tested the heated part. Radio is assumed good as the clock displays.

The headlights are on. Also the running lights. The switch on the dash is off. No brake lights, no hazard or turn lights, no switching between high and low headlights, and the “fog” lights do not work. This is with the key to On with or w/o the engine running.

No running lights with the key in ACC. Duh, just thought to check if I can turn on the lights.
Did not try the power seat. But the gears are sort of stripped out and it just goes front and back.

Drives fine, seems to shift normally.

Google is not helpful. Nor is the Duck. I really don’t care where the fuse panel is located in a Dodge Caravan.

Clues I have gleaned are “bad connection at the battery” and “bad ground from the battery” and “hazard lights fuse is blown”. Which fuse is that? I don’t know.
The only weird thing that has happened in the last few months is that sometimes flipping the lever to make a right hand turn does nothing.

So, bad ground, a bad fuse, or a bad turn signal switch. I’ll let y’all know.

  16. Ray Thompson says:

And do your four kids call him Dad or Uncle ?

That’s a question that only a true Alabama resident can answer.

  17. Ray Thompson says:

Problem is related to it being a Dodge.

  18. JimB says:

Paul, I only have a minute, but to answer “which fuse”, the cover of the distribution panel will have a map of the fuses, circuit breakers, and functions on its underside. That panel is usually under the hood, near the battery. If the clock was on time, it was not battery connections. Good luck.

Or it might be one of those vehicles with a “fusible link” on the positive side of the battery that has blown.

I voted early today for the Super Tuesday election here in Texas. The repuglican version of course. I did consider jumping to the dumbocrat side and voting for Bernie for grins but, I did not.

As usual, the repuglican party had several feel good items to vote for or against. One was to choose our medical doctors and treatments for our children under 18. The next was to ban gender change treatments for children under the age of 18. I voted for both even though I thought that they were contradictory.

That reminds me that I need to head out to the polling place tomorrow. I believe they’re open on Saturdays in this county.

The walking corpse incumbent Congresscritter who beat “Doors” has an obvious RINO challenger from The Subcontinent talking “green energy” and “zero landfill waste”. Given the shifting demographics and low voter turnout in the primaries, it wouldn’t surprise me if the challenger won and proved incredibly tough to remove later.

Our new dumbocrat County Judge had himself photographed in a judge’s robe the other day. He is not a judge. He just leads the County Commissioners court. Kind of like a beauty pageant court.

This ad started running in the Austin market tonight thanks to Hegar’s California money. Cornyn shouldn’t discount the challenge since she’s already looking past the primary.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GClKZVl9hDI

I think that she is just too freaky for Texas. Cornyn is old and stodgy, just what Texas wants now. I think it will be like the Gates runoff election, 60% for Cornyn. Trump will have coattails.

Cornyn is liked, he looks and acts just like your grandfather. Ted Cruz is a little high and mighty at times, which, hurts him. Especially against a very popular synthetic hispanic like Bozo O’.

I understand the difference between a Judge and the title “Judge” in Texas. Robert Francis’ father had the same gig in El Paso. His immediate family money came from his monther’s side — they owned an old school furniture store in town, one of the places that go back more than 100 years and always have the exact sales records when a historical house in town undergoes restoration and the decorators need details about the interior.

Yup, Robert Francis certainly does understand the plight of “his people” south of the border.

I’m not going to comment further since I don’t want to be accused of being a rayycist, but you are kidding yourself if you don’t think that the community will support that person remaining in office just based on the name and ethnic origins alone. I don’t want to see it happen in our Congressional representation since, in Florida, we lived in a RINO’s dictrict which never turned over until the Critter, a member of an old school citrus farming familly, ran for Ag Commissioner in the run up to his running for Governor.

I despised Congressman “Opie”. Ironically, the nickname came from an old Prog columnist writing for the Tampa paper.

I love how she has her “medals” sitting out in the ante room. I’ve never seen that and would hope she lost all Vets right there. “I’m a war hero.” Uh, no.
