Sun. Aug. 18, 2019 – saw my shadow

By on August 18th, 2019 in Random Stuff

81F and humid this morning.

Back and bladder woke me up. Dreams were unpleasant so I got out of bed much earlier than needed today.

News is all the same as yesterday.

I’m going back to bed.

    From Cool Tools:

    Lovingly produced ebooks
Standard Ebooks is a labor of love. They take public domain texts (from Robert E. Howard to Bertrand Russell), scour them for typographical errors, add great cover art, and format them for Kindle and other ereaders. The online catalog is a pleasure to browse, with a synopsis for each book. Join the mailing list or subscribe to the RSS feed for updates on new books added to the catalog. — MF

Well, the 3/8th of an inch rain we just got did drop temps by 10 degrees, but they’re climbing back up and the humidity is 78%. I’m sure it feels higher out in the wet yard…

    Currently only 92F.

    It’s a wet heat.

95F here and very humid. I shortened my normal walking route of 4.7 miles to 2.9 because of the heat. I’m in good shape, but I was feeling it – better safe than sorry.

On the technology front, I ordered a 1TB crucial ssd for my sons laptop. It currently has a 512MB Samsung ssd in it and is almost full. I made an image of it yesterday. The drive was delivered earlier today, so I’ll try to get it installed and imaged this evening.

You know, some people pay good money to sit in a sauna. You’re getting one for free and you’re still complaining. -shake head- Some people are never satisfied.

re the “Standard Ebooks” link, thanks, MrAtoz.

Check out MobileRead. They have a huge selection of ebooks in various formats. For the most part, they are very well done. I have couple of Throne Smith epubs there. One of these days I will get the rest of them done.

My lefty friends who live in MD call Baltimore “The Pit of Despair”. Of course, they’d sooner loose a limb than admit Trump was right about the place … or right about anything else.
