It was 28 degrees, sunny, and breezy when I took Colin out at 7:45.

Frances and Al stopped in to see Bob yesterday afternoon. He nodded yes and no to questions. When Frances told him I was in Sparta with 8″ of snow she said his eyes got wide. Don’t know if he was reacting to the snow, the snow totals, or what.
Last night his nurse called. He had become agitated and pulled out one of his main lines. They caught it in time with no damage but he is back to being restrained. In a way that is good news because we are somewhat back to where we were before this last event.

Glad to hear Bob is as responsive as he is. Hoping and praying he continues to improve.

Also hoping OFD is out there and doing well.

  2. JimL says:

Prayers going out for Bob, OFD, and others.

40F and mostly clear this am, with a beautiful pink sunrise. Take your joy where you find it.

I too think it is encouraging that Bob is active and responsive. Please take every opportunity to explain his circumstances to him, even if he doesn’t appear to be listening. Based on my experiences, and some of what Barbara has already reported, he may have no idea what’s happening to him or why and it may be terrifying. He’s in a strange place, in pain, confused, possibly with no memory of recent events, and he’s restrained while people DO THINGS to him.

Keep repeating it until he indicates he’s back and understands.

As always, whatever support I can give,

Aesop, who I respect for his medical and prep related articles was pretty dismissive of the Cali fires. I wonder when or if that will change….

(oh and there is a spat between two of the bigger prepper sites- too much inside baseball, but looks like the movement has entered the ‘eating their own’ phase…)

The dude in NYC will probably get the key to the city for saving lives because his bomb was so shitty.

Obviously another case of white privilege. This guy was held back by a racist America that didn’t provide him the proper engineering education.

Watch the video, which they don’t attribute. It’s a cell phone vid of a surveillance camera and in the background you can hear people talking – “the one in the hoodie” then he blows up. No one says a thing, not an ‘oh shit’ or any other surprise. Weird huh?

Low comment count day but that does not mean that this online community is not thinking about Bob, Barbara, and Dave and continuing to send our best.

    Second that.

I was out getting a new driveway gate from Habitat for Humanity’s reStore. The one that doesn’t ban CHL holders. Also got some heavy stuff loaded to ship out tomorrow.

No virgins for Abdul and we can all be thankful for that.

Yep. Thinking of Bob and Barbara and Old Fart Dave.

  11. CowboySlim says:

    10-4!

  12. Terry Losansky says:

Old Fart Dave? Huh. When I have read OFD, I have always used a different F-word instead of fart. In all the years here, I don’t recall it being spelled out.

All the initialed parties here are in my thoughts too.

  13. jim~ says:

Old Farmer Dave, I believe. My thoughts are with him and RBT.
