08:32 – It was 58.9F (15C) when I took Colin out around 0645 this morning, again bright and partly cloudy.
Barbara arrived home around 1400 yesterday. She made a bunch of neat items from colored glass, mostly hangers and wind chimes on bird and butterfly themes. Colin and I were delighted to see her home. We both barked and almost peed on the floor.
The drop-ceiling installers are supposed to show up tomorrow. Barbara pointed out that they’ll need to replace the fiberglass insulation between the joists before they can install the support hangers and tiles. I’m assuming things should go pretty quickly, so I hope to have a finished ceiling by tomorrow afternoon. We’ll see.
Another muslim outrage in London late yesterday. It continues to amaze me that civilized societies even tolerate the presence of muslims among them, let alone prog-splain and attempt to justify their violent outrages. At least this time the reports mention that patrons of bars and restaurants near the attacks were preparing to defend themselves against the muslim terrorists. I wonder how much longer it can be before ordinary people finally are so sickened by the muslims that they begin lynching them and burning mosques. It wouldn’t take much of that before muslims started self-deporting from decent countries and returning to the third-world hellholes from which they came. They don’t want us there. Fine. We don’t want them here, either.
62 and sunny w/blue skies, belying yesterday’s forecast, which was/is also calling for more rain tomorrow and Tuesday.
Agreed on the musloid situation; they need to GTFO of civilized Western countries and we need to get out of theirs. I even suggest us making the first move: close those bases and bring the troops home. Now.
Unless, of course, it’s in the interest of our rulers to keep them coming and to keep the wars going indefinitely…
Off shortly to Latin mass and then back here to get some outside stuff done and make hay while the sun shines.

The big mosque in Orlando sits in the middle of neighborhoods filled with Disney and Universal employees. IMHO, if that building survives the aftermath of a terrorist event at one of the parks, we are doomed as a society and the Islamofacists have won.
Not only would it survive, they’d probably form a daisy chain around it to protect it. Which is insane on so many levels, but on a purely personal level, most of the disney employees in creative or ‘character’ positions are gay and subject to death in any islammic country.
n
Currently on the train to Oslo, then train to Sandejford. Trains are spot on time. Crowded for a Sunday.
Not only would it survive, they’d probably form a daisy chain around it to protect it.
Maybe. The livelihoods of a lot of the neighbors depend either directly or indirectly on the parks, and the communities are still recovering from the hurricanes crossing the area in 2004-5.
Dilbert (Scott Adams) has a solution, short and sweet:

The truth hurts and it will set you free.

I think that the commenter PapayaSF is more on-target than Adams is; the hardcore bastards won’t care about any of that stuff and won’t believe it anyway. Sure, it might scare away younger loser recruits, so it’s worth doing.

Today is the day of Pentecost. Today Peter and the other ten apostles held the first open air church service in Jerusalem after Jesus ascended to the Heavens around 2,000 years ago. It must have been amazing, the Bible says that every person heard the sermon in their own language.
Tongues of fire hit them, and gobsmacked, they understood each others’ languages immediately, thus Babylon Reversed instantly.
95% of the mass today was in Latin, i.e., ecclesiastical Latin, or, medieval Italian, pretty much the same as spoken and understood by guys like Dante Alighieri, Francesco Petrarca and Giovanni Boccaccio. Circa 1300 or so. Pre-mass praying of the Rosary by the congregation on its own, per usual, and singing likewise with no schola or choir or organist.
Many years ago, the urban Episcopal parish where I was a verger down in Woostah, MA, used to release a zillion red balloons from the courtyard on Pentecost, but that came to a crashing halt when environmentalists raised hell about it in the mid-80s.
Clouding up now and possible showers on the way again.
“UH-OH, HERE COME THE “CLIMATE REFUGEES”
Everyone knows that the only reason Donald Trump stepped away from the Paris Climate Accord last week is because he’s a racist asshole who hates brown people. This becomes clear once you realize that the catastrophic climate change that will almost immediately occur in the wake of Trump’s decision will flood America and Europe with nearly 50 million “climate refugees” who will forever alter the demographic face of these once predominantly Caucasian land masses. This is ultimately a good thing, and although it may lead to a perpetual race war, at least we’ll be killing one another amidst clean air and sparkling water.”

Yet another week of insanity.
When will Marvin the Martian and the rest of the hostile space aliens blast this planet to smithereens???
NOT ONE mention of the London attacks in the AOL Daily News feed. It’s provided HuffPo.
Not one.
n
yes, I know, AOL. Millions still have it as their primary news source.
And on the “News” app on my phone, powered by Flipboard, the first 2 mentions of the attacks are 4 pages down, and titled “Trump criticizes London mayor after terror attack hits city” from Globe and Mail, and “‘VEEP creator tells Trump to ‘shut the fuck up’ after misleading London tweet” from Mashable.
No bias at all………

It was hot here, 92 F. It is now monsooning outside. Inside, it is a pleasant 74 F.
Huge downpour here which had dropped temps from high 90s to 73.
Prepper fail! Went to the buckets to get some flour for a fresh loaf of bread, and 20# had swarms of tiny little bugs. I think the bucket is from the Ebola outbreak. I didn’t do anything but stick the bag in the bucket.
Fortunately, I had a newer bucket with 5# bag in it. So the bread making robot is churning away…

Let’s see, when did I last use AOL as a member…I’m guessing the mid- to late-90s. Around the same time I left CompuServe, or it left me. Remember those AOL cd’s absolutely everywhere, by the zillions? Our son had it back then, and racked up beaucoups long-distance phone charges because our local provider was useless so he kept connecting to Burlap, 35 miles away.
My primary nooz source? I don’t really have one anymore; it’s bits and pieces from the local rag, which copies their national and international rubbish from the WAPO anyway, VPR’s lefty nonsense, and from the innernet. Sometimes the shortwave, but not as often as years ago. Oh, and one of my brothers is constantly sending me links to stuff, usually Twitter feeds.
I haven’t followed the “official” word from on high WRT the London atrocities; what are they saying? I think I saw a brief mention somewhere that PM Theresa thinks “enough is enough” or something. Does that mean she’s giving the green light to the SAS now? Has HRH piped up about any of it?

I’d hate reading, too, if the text looked like ants had walked through the chocolate frosting at a picnic.
They’re pretty bad, a lot worse than Murkans, who are bad enough and getting worse themselves. Pixels are just so much easier, and sounds, musical sounds, if possible, hip-hop musical sounds…yeah….
Oh wait–you’re a C&W fan? Cool. Your music sounds indistinguishable now from rock and pop. Or pop and rock.
So reading today, per se, means looking at text rendered in pixels. On a small screen and in very short bursts and small doses. Go to any public library now and see who’s actually reading books or wandering through the stacks and how many of them there are. The buildings are mainly used now for activities and getting online.
Meanwhile both public and university libraries have been divesting themselves of musty old tomes and musty old card catalogs helter-skelter.
We ain’t as pure as the driven snow when it comes to reading ability.

The tabloid nooz aggregator. Fine, as far as it goes.

You forgot after-school baby-sitting. 🙁
Why yes I did, Mr. medium wave. My bad.
And I also forgot homeless shelters.
@nick, here you go, one country home on 40 acres for only $3,500,000. 557 County Road, 451 El Campo, TX 77437. Nice swimming pool. In fact, incredibly nice swimming pool with a lazy river.

“New international agreements should be introduced to regulate the internet in the light of the London Bridge terror attack, Theresa May has said.”
“The Prime Minister said introducing new rules for cyberspace would “deprive the extremists of their safe spaces online” and that technology firms were not currently doing enough.”
Oh yeah, that will fix the problem. Why not just go ahead and shut the internet down ?
Yup, right on schedule, with the usual useless bullshit:

Which angel ? I’m betting on Lucifer.

Same here. Or one of his lesser minions. It’s not like they had to deal with a rocket scientist out in that desert bat cave. And no witnesses.
For Pentecost there was a multitude of witnesses.

Agreed, but well, ya know, what WERE they thinking letting this musloid clown become mayor? Did it make the Tigers feel good or were they laughing their asses off? HRH have a thought on the matter?-wait–forget that.
That guy should be swinging alongside the Barren Cat Lady on Tower Hill.
@lynn, nice digs! Wife is gonna have to work a bit harder to afford that though…
See the class A motorhome and the speedboat in the garage? Race car too.
I sincerely hope the owner got a chance to enjoy that stuff. I’m not sure I’d have enough time, even if I started today…(that’s a lotta toys)
No mention of the staff required but at minimum, aquarium guy, pool company, ranch hand, cleaning service, landscape company, AV/home automation, security system, HVAC service/major appliance service. Not the kind of guy who skimps on mechanics or other service people either, I’m guessing.
Nice to look at the pictures though…..

Regarding news I use the News app in my Windows phone. It is also available for Win 10 desktop and it allows selection of preferred news types and news sources.
I find only one stand out news source and it is Forbes. I find I either agree with their views or at least appreciate that they make rational comments in expressing their points of view. A lot of other sites just seem to twist reality to fit their views and they mostly express views instead of news.
Train from Oslo to Sandejford was cancelled. They put us on a bus. Took about 30 minutes longer. They are doing work on the track and all the trains to and from Sandejford are cancelled until Wednesday morning.
Currently in Sandefjord. Spent the morning looking over some WWII gun placements by the Germans that guarded the coast of Norway. Guns, no longer there, fire 5 inch shells that could travel 7 miles. Some big stuff. Five gun mounts and some support stuff. Now just concrete shells.
Weather is clear, about 65, breezy. Air is extremely clean as you can see for 10 miles or more. Haze and smog are non-existent today. Tomorrow is supposed to start raining for the next 6 days. Some are saying a big storm. Be interesting to see how that compares to the TN frog stranglers that appear on occasion.

“The Archangel Gabriel…”
The Father of Lies would not be averse to lying about who he was. And of course that POS founder made up a whole chit-ton of chit thereafter out of bits and pieces of Judaism, Christianity and paganism. When he wasn’t murdering people he was diddling a nine-year-old girl. What has changed since?
WRT Gabriel:
A mooslem on jihad is allowed, even encouraged, to lie (and not follow the rules of Pislam). Whatever is needed to rid the world of the infidel is allowed.
Take all the bad in past religious history and you have today’s Pislam. The masses need education to understand and differentiate between God’s Laws and the laws of man.
I go back to the basics. Moses was sent to the mountain to receive God’s Laws written in stone. Those laws are not open to interpretation or revision, the one exception to our free will. Look carefully at and study those 10 Laws/Commandments, they are all that is need for a civil society.
I make no apologies for my loathing of the mooslems, and I am showing less and less sympathy for the now minority (yes, minority) of Reformed Muslims who have grown just as the Jews and Christians.
Now I’ll raise hackles with the agnostic and atheist, as much as they may protest they are held God’s Laws. Not saying that they have to believe in Him, but they must acknowledge the root of moral authority and responsibility.
Borders – Language – Culture
No tolerance of the intolerant.
“Now I’ll raise hackles with the agnostic and atheist, as much as they may protest they are held God’s Laws. Not saying that they have to believe in Him, but they must acknowledge the root of moral authority and responsibility.”
Think again. This atheist doesn’t acknowledge that there’s any such thing as “God’s Laws”, nor does any other atheist I know, and I know a lot.
The root of moral authority and responsibility has nothing to do with god. The Golden Rule and similar moral and ethical strictures long predate Abrahamic religions. They are artifacts of evolution, and are informal rules (often honored only in the breach) for getting along with others in a tribe or other group. Judaism and Christianity simply filed off the serial numbers, as they have so often done, and claimed these rules as their own “god-given” rules.
[snip] Which angel ? I’m betting on Lucifer. [snip]
The Archangel Gabriel, for those who accept the existence of such things.
Gabriel has a full time job according to the book of Daniel. In fact, according to the book of Daniel, each country, or region, has an angel assigned to it. And there are several unfulfilled prophecies in Daniel.
What RBT said. With the addition that you, and everyone, are welcome to believe what you wish, but you have no expectation of anyone else respecting your beliefs.
And the further, and very important addition that if you attempt to inflict your beliefs on anyone else or most especially if you use your beliefs to justify attacks on anyone else, you’re likely to get no only yourself but your coreligionists killed. This doesn’t apply so much to DadCooks as to Muslims, Warmenists, and Redistributionists.
How about Aviators?
Aviation is a cult? Huh. Learn something new every day. What is the prime tenet? Probably something about the lofty aviators versus the ground-bound worms.
There are three tenets: big wallet, big watch, big ****. One of the first things I learned in flight school. lol! You only need to have two of the three, though.
One might reasonably assume that the stars stand in for “glob of earwax between the ears”.
Aviators also consume chit-tons of quiche. It’s a sacrament.
