10:22 – Barbara is off to the gym and supermarket. We have more kit stuff to get done today, along with some household stuff. James, who mows our yard, is supposed to deliver a face cord of fire wood soon, so we need to get the wood rack set up. Probably tomorrow, since today we’re to have thunderstorms.
We’ve pretty much run out of new stuff that we want to watch on Netflix and Amazon Prime streaming. We actually started re-watching series one of Poirot, which we last watched when it was first broadcast 25 years or so ago.
So we’ve started watching some documentaries. I dislike many recent documentaries because they’re presented through the lens of modern sensibilities. The presenters almost sneer at those poor, benighted folks in olden days, expecting them to think and behave the way a modern prog does. But many older documentaries and a few recent ones don’t skew that way.
We watched the five episodes of Warrior Women, in which Lucy Lawless did an excellent job without much material to work with. One episode was devoted to each of the two obvious candidates, Boudica and Joan of Arc. Of the other three women covered, I’d heard only of the piratess Grace O’Malley.
The obvious problem is that women are unsuited by biology and temperament to be warriors, so there haven’t been many of them. With apologies to Belloc,
Whatever happens, we have got
Testosterone, and they have not.
It’s not that I think women lack intelligence, bravery, honor, patriotism, or any of the other soldierly virtues. It’s simply that testosterone makes men larger, stronger, faster, and more aggressive. Before firearms and other modern weapons, women simply could not compete on the battlefield with men. At one point, Lawless was wearing a suit of armor, and commented that it weighed 40 kilos (88 pounds). At the time, women (and men) were physically smaller, so that suit of armor may well have weighed as much as the woman who might wear it. I had this image of a woman wearing that suit of armor, unable to move because of the weight, and trying to defend herself with a broadsword that was too heavy for her to pick up, let alone swing.
Last night, we watched the first of four episodes of Amanda Foreman’s The Ascent of Woman. I was expecting the typical PC/prog POV, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that Foreman is actually even-handed. She starts in Mesopotamia, and points out that in the earliest Sumerian civilization there, women had essentially equal rights, which they lost as the Assyrians and eventually the moslems took power. Foreman interviewed a very brave moslem woman who lives in Syria and criticized moslem treatment of women. This in 2015, at a time when ISIS was already running rampant. I turned to Barbara at that point and asked if she thought that woman was still alive. I’m looking forward to watching the remaining three episodes.
We brought up about 50 or 80 empty 3-liter bottles that we need to get dried out and ready to be filled with bulk staples. I’m saving those for staples that are a PITA to put in 2-liter bottles because of their narrower mouths. Mainly flour, which takes forever to get into the smaller-mouth bottles. I figure we have enough 3-liter bottles for 150 to 200 pounds of flour.
Happy Lenin’s Birthday. Oh and it’s Earth Day. What a coincidence, not.
My wife has just recently started exploring her feminism (her words). So, her and I get into heated debates on occasion about various topics. Usually it’s me laughing at a sexist joke that some comedian (Tosh.0, for example) makes and then her being appalled that I found it funny. I shrug it off. My love of ribaldry and black comedy are nothing new.
One afternoon we got on the discussion about the inequality between men and women and I said something to the effect of, “Men and women can never be truly equal because they’re inherently unequal. Sure, from a mental perspective they’re equals (albeit different in a complementary way). However, men are physically more powerful than women. So, push comes to shove and a man will almost always come out on top. That is why men have dominated civilization for millennia. Modern civilization with its technology has made physical power less important, but if the SHTF women will quickly be reminded why human civilization is largely male-dominated. You can never truly have equality when, in reality, the two things you want to be equal are NOT equal in ALL ways. You can (and should) push for equal treatment despite these differences, but as I said, we’ll only ever be one SHTF/TEOTWAWKI event away from reverting back to the way it’s always been.”
“… but as I said, we’ll only ever be one SHTF/TEOTWAWKI event away from reverting back to the way it’s always been.”
That must have gone over well.
I have occasional flareups here with Mrs. OFD; she gets all pissed off periodically about her childhood in the RC Church and how they treated/treat women, which must really suck when she sees the typical women priestesses that are ordained in the mainstream Protestant denominations. (overweight and angry old fembat dykes). And at some point she spent time many years ago with a female “spiritual advisor” who clearly filled her head with a lot of rubbish. This would have been during the era of radical feminist activism in the 1970s, while at the same time she’d been acquainted with a group of kinda wacky evangelical Catholics.
I stick up for myself and the Church during these little outbursts but she just gets madder and madder so I usually find a way to change the subject or just take a hike.
Things were really no different 5,000 (or 50,000) years ago. Women have never been able to depend on physical power, so they recognized reality and adapted. Sure, a guy could grab a woman by her hair, drag her back to his cave, and rape her. But guys aren’t stupid, and many/most soon realized that it was better to keep a woman happy than to keep her subdued. I’m sure that 50,000 years ago, women were yelling at their men for not taking out the garbage, and those men were soon trained to do so to keep their women happy.
” but she just gets madder and madder so I usually find a way to change the subject or just take a hike.”
Which men have been doing ever since there have been men and women.
Or as a friend commented years ago: “What are we supposed to do? We can’t live with ’em, and we’re not allowed to shoot ’em.”
And it doesn’t hurt women’s rights that women are generally the child-rearers. I’m sure all of you guys grew up the same way I did, with my mother telling me from about age 1, “Bobby, you can never, ever hit a girl.” Even now, I cringe when I see a woman being physically abused in a TV show. I’m programmed to grab the SOB and beat him as he’s beating the woman. And I’d bet that most guys like us are the same way.
Actually, I’d bet that in their private home lives, even most moslem men prefer to keep their women happy rather than subdued.
I’m a feminist, and fully support equal rights for women. Equal responsibilities, too, including dealing with consequences for actions. If a woman hits me, I see no reason not to hit her back.
I’ll go a little farther, I think that most of the keeping of moslem women in their “place” is done by other women, not their husbands.
I’ve discovered there is a “sport” I like even less than WWE Wrestling or Mixed Martial Arts. It’s the women’s version. I’m programmed to think nobody should hit a woman. I think Ronda Rousey is in excellent physical shape, but I have no desire to see her fight.
That is something that has been lacking in womens upbringing. Don’t hit without fully expecting to be hit back. Most men are taught to never hit a woman and women seem to think this gives them carte blanche to hit and slap men with no consequence.
Male OR female: Don’t hit anyone of any gender unless you’re prepared to be hit back in return. Violence begets violence is something many people are also taught from an early age. Right along with “Do unto others…”
Oh, I’d defend myself if a women was attempting to harm me, but I would never hit a woman because I was angry. Nor will I hit a woman who slaps me or otherwise physically assaults me without intending to harm me.
Back when I was active in Karate, I really, really hated the idea of full contact sparring with a woman because I was afraid I’d hurt them. Some of them were excellent, better than me, and very fast. But still, they were women who weighed maybe 120 pounds, and there was no way they could take even a half-power strike from a 240-pound weightlifting guy without being seriously injured.
“there was no way they could take even a half-power strike from a 240-pound weightlifting guy without being seriously injured”
True enough. I remember reading a block entry by some woman with a black belt in a striking discipline. Karate or something similar. I don’t recall the circumstances – maybe a full-contact bout? Or a dare with a sparring partner? Anyway, she gave a full-force strike to an male opponent’s stomach. Afterwards, she just stood there, quivering, while he calmly looked down where she had hit him, apparently unimpressed…
Still, knowing self-defense is better than not knowing it. Even a small woman going full-out may do some damage, or at least shock her attacker long enough to escape. Heck, it’s really no different for us: With the possible exception of SteveF, I doubt that any of us are a physical match for a teenage punk. I lift weights and work out, and my 20-year-old son who hates exercise is still stronger than I am. Youth is just unfair…
“…I doubt that any of us are a physical match for a teenage punk.”
Depends on the teenage punk. Experience and RUTHLESSNESS count for a lot.
The Spawn of Cankles puts *it* right out there:
Chelsea Clinton said Thursday at an event in Maryland that there is now an opportunity for gun control legislation to pass the Supreme Court since Justice Antonin Scalia passed away.
It doesn’t get any simpler than that. The Birdcage Liner is meaningless. Whatever party is in power will make any law they want. Scalia is dead! The witch is dead! Yay!
I’m
a feministgender fluid, and fully support equal rights for women.FIFY
“Anyway, she gave a full-force strike to an male opponent’s stomach. Afterwards, she just stood there, quivering, while he calmly looked down where she had hit him, apparently unimpressed…”
That was me, talking about a woman who participated on the DorothyL mailing list for mystery authors and readers. She’s like 5’5″ and 120 pounds and had been a black belt and an instructor for years. The guy, a foot taller and twice her weight, was young and obnoxious, taking every opportunity to feel her up while they were grappling. So she decided to cut loose one day with a full power roundhouse kick to his mid-section. She hit him squarely with everything she had. He just absorbed it and took a half-step back, without any apparent effect. She said she felt like a cartoon character, delivering the blow with no effect and then standing there quivering.
So she supported me in my argument on the list that there was no way that a woman, no matter how well trained, could mix it up physically with a guy and not get her ass kicked or worse. And that, as I used to teach when I was training women in self-defense, that a woman has exactly one chance: she has to disable or kill a male opponent before he realizes that she’s going to fight back.
I took Brad’s comment to refer to strength, endurance, and other purely physical attributes.
Yah, experience and nastiness and preparedness count for more if it comes down to a fight.
And that, as I used to teach when I was training women in self-defense, that a woman has exactly one chance: she has to disable or kill a male opponent before he realizes that she’s going to fight back.

New Age Feminism has really been bad for women in general. The attitude that “women can do anything men can” should be “women can *try* anything men can.” And vice versa, of course. My Taekwondo instructor in Korea (a Korean national) wouldn’t take females, US or Korean, at all. He said they were not strong enough to even spar light contact with us. My Shotokan and Gungfu instructors in college took females. Even in no contact sparring the females were banged up with minor slips. I saw more than a few bloody noses and bruises.
One big problem in a lot of martial arts classes is the coddling of female students. Whether this is because of atavistic chivalry or the mercantile desire to keep the students and their monthly fees in the class, it’s not doing them any favors.
I don’t know how many times I’ve had “highly trained” women (or even teenagers) repeatedly and aggressively challenge me to a spar, because they wanted to show everyone how good they are by beating a large man. On the rare occasions when both I and the instructor agreed, it did not work out well for the challenger, even when I was holding ****waaaaay**** back. I believe it was an educational experience for most to be grabbed by the collar and belt or knee and lifted over my head and asked to choose between surrendering and being slammed onto the mat from 7 1/2 feet up. One challenger got frustrated because kicking me in the gut didn’t accomplish anything, and kicked me full power in the crotch. Her I stomped into the mat and she had to be carried off.
Note that it’s not only women making this kind of challenge. Quite a few teenage boys with black belts in Tai Kwon Do think they’re hot shit. Bam! Tai Kwon Do as usually taught in the US is a dance class, not martial arts, and is normally taught without real sparring, and the students are not in any way prepared for a real fight.
My instructor in Korea had a requirement to get a black belt rating from him. You had to spar full contact with pads. That was the final test to get the rating. You didn’t have to win. I never made it that far, but he was always pummeling me in light contact to get me ready.
“Tai Kwon Do as usually taught in the US is a dance class, not martial arts”
I think that’s true of a nearly all martial arts, everywhere. In the martial arts I learned, we trained for “real-life” situations maybe once a year. Really, it should be once a month or even more. Sure, most of the training is technique, plus practice for tournaments, kata, etc.. But actually using the techniques when you are surprised by someone who’s not following the rules? That’s a totally different ball of wax…
OFD never did any martial arts training; all my CQ physical combat training was under the auspices of various mil-spec and LE organizations. Now I’m in my early sixties and nowhere near the shape I was 30-40 years ago, but if I’m attacked, someone’s going down with me, assuming I even go down. Besides experience and RUTHLESSNESS, there’s also the fact that I’m not afraid of dying anymore. Been REAL close MANY times and seen it up close many more times. So my strategy is that I avoid confrontations as much as possible and if not, molon labe, baby.

Us feeble old fools need to execute a retrograde operation when confronted. Unless it is an obese ethnic female. Then it’s full on smack down to sooth the manhood.
-eyes rolling- Dance class, in other words.
I got bitched at and thrown out when I visited a class one time. They were doing non-contact “sparring” which apparently was supposed to be at molasses speed and never aimed at the head, in addition to being kept at least six inches from contact. No one told me that, so I stepped around one girl’s (sloppy) punch or kick or whatever and then unleashed a flurry of punches at her face — all kept well away, in line with the guidance I’d been given. She stood stock-still in shock, then started crying and ran away to hide in the bathroom. The instructor informed me that there was no place for aggression in his class.
It’s relevant to the anecdote that this class was at a college, so I’m not talking about a six-year-old girl but about a twenty-year-old. And the college had had a rash of “sexual assaults”, which was why they’d authorized a martial arts class, and this class was being pushed as self defense for the female students so they’d feel safe walking around campus, and I’d been asked to attend because of my training in combative styles and for my real-world experience.
BTW, after reading a LOT of Post Apocalyptic fiction, I have noted the following items:
1. The overwhelming amount of PA authors have an apocalyptic event in their story lines. Usually the event happens quickly over a couple of seconds to a couple of months. I have only read one PA book where the slide into dystopia takes decades.
2. There is almost always cannibals in PA. The cannibals tend to group together and start cannibalism around six months after the apocalyptic event as the food runs out. Does anyone know if cannibalism in the PA track history or are the authors being overly pessimistic?
“Get politics out of climate debate: Opposing view”
http://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2016/04/21/earth-day-paris-united-nations-weather-channel-editorials-debates/83349848/
“With the Obama administration set to commit the U.S. to the Paris climate agreement by signing our nation onto the document Friday, it is obvious that science has taken a back seat at the United Nations.”
“The environmentalists, bureaucrats and politicians who make up the U.N.’s climate panel recruit scientists to research the climate issue. And they place only those who will produce the desired results. Money, politics and ideology have replaced science.”
“U.N. climate chief Christiana Figueres has called for a “centralized transformation” that is “going to make the life of everyone on the planet very different” to combat the alleged global warming threat. How many Americans are looking forward to the U.N. transforming their lives?”
“…I’d been asked to attend because of my training in combative styles and for my real-world experience.”
You old silly, you, it was a COLLEGE. Mustn’t ruffle the precious snowflakes. Back in my days as a campus cop we would hold similar classes for female students, only from the LE rather than martial arts perspective. Very few would bother to show up, and the ones that did were likely in no danger of being assaulted in a sexual manner. That ties in nicely with the physical abuse victims we’d bring to the “top-secret” safe house from which they’d immediately phone their temporarily estranged boyfriends and husbands.
“I have only read one PA book where the slide into dystopia takes decades.”
My own currently-in-limbo PA novella has the slide taking place over months. But our own timeline will probably be in years. As for cannibalism, it doesn’t take a whole lot of imagination to figure what the terribly desperate will do in the big cities once the food is gone. They can fan out limited distances but eventually may well resort to long pig; it’s happened in modern times, particularly during WWII in Europe, and in Russia, from the Great Famine (induced by the commie authorities) right through the battles/sieges of Leningrad and Stalingrad.
Any woman that finds herself in need of self defense from a male fails if the first blow isn’t to the crotch.
OTH – For Earth Day I plan on eating some cow. Just helping rid the planet of those flatulent methane producing menaces to the climate.
One of my frequent martial arts partners, a lady my age and not a snowflake, enjoys working out with me in part because I can take the punches and kicks and self-defense moves from her, and she does not hold much back. She likes to know and learn where her limits are and where she stands with, for example, grappling someone my size. More often than not, especially in self-defense and grappling, surprise is her best weapon.
I definitely agree, as do most of the male and female black belts I work with, particularly with self-defense, the victim needs to disable the opponent immediately, and if failing to do so, never stop trying with every dirty trick possible.
I say victim, because while women are at a general disadvantage, as I think we all here agree generally, the same can apply to even slightly smaller men. I recently watched a friend spar with much younger, highly athletic, and only slightly smaller man (5’10” 200lb vs 6’ 260lb). The young fellow gave it everything he had against my friend. My friend commented afterwards, “I hardly felt a thing.” The match was a sight to see, and I described it as “Hatchet meets Redwood”; Axe meets tree gives too much credit to the axe. I have not laughed that hard in a long time.
Let’s just say, size matters. A lot.
The older students also practice in ‘active aggressor’ scenarios. Think; home invasion, store robbery, snatch and grab of a person, cuffed escapes, weapon take-away, multiple attackers, etc. Some parents don’t like it, so depending on the class, it may be less overtly described. We frequently practice with the assumption that people don’t play by the rules or are ‘nice’, and there may be some sacrifices.
First and foremost, we teach to avoid the fight if at all possible and situational awareness. Use your brain, have many tools you know how to use, never give up, surprise, distraction, practice-practice-practice.
“… if the first blow isn’t to the crotch.”
Decent training has that, plus strikes to the throat and eyes.
For Earth Day and Lenin’s birthday, we’ll have tuner steaks here, plus either spuds or rice, and some kinda dam veggie.
Wife should be back any minute now…
In line with Lenin’s policies, or at least their results, I feel I should eat a Russian today. But my wife gets all pissy with marital fidelity this and marital fidelity that.
Yes, size matters. In my time I’ve run into several guys bigger than me, say, 6’7″, 6’8, and weighing a hundred pounds more. I had to adjust my expectations and tactics a little, as I certainly was not gonna wrassle with them on the ground or exchange punches. They figured to bounce me around and ended up having a very bad day at the ER. Usually, though, we found that the bigger the guys, the more docile and easily dealt with. Little guys always a problem, ditto biker women.
“But my wife gets all pissy with marital fidelity this and marital fidelity that.”
Unbelievable! The nerve!
Maybe I’ll use Russian dressing on the tuner steaks…
Okay @OFD, you’ve got me again. What is “tuner steak”? I admit I’m not good at translating East Coastian or Maffachufettian 😉
BTW, for lunch I am making a nice thin sliced ribeye steak and black bean burrito with plenty of pickled jalapenos, smoked tomato salsa, and a shredded five year aged sharp cheddar cheese. That out to help out the global warming.
Tuna! Sheesh! How can anyone — anyone not addled by dementia, that is — not understand that?
Yup, Russian-eater Mr. SteveF has it right! ’cause he live not all that fah from the Massholes. Closer than me, anyway.
We take the ‘R’ out of words that have it and move it around to other words; so “idea” becomes “ideer” and that “R” probably came from “bahn” or “cah.” Simple once ya get the hang of it. Funny pronounciations and sayings from tight little regional areas, too; a “potato” in Woostah is a “buh-day-duh.” A can or bottle of a soft drink, like a Pepsi or a Mountain Dew is a “tonic.” The wotta fountain down the hall at the skool is a “bubbluh.”
Boy oh boy, that lunch that Mr. DadCooks is making sounds simply scrumptious!
Prince Prince Prince Prince Prince
Oh, and Trump is just pretending so far. He’ll act better if elected.
Yeah, the stations up here are blaring the tiny handful of Prince hits over and over again and the media is treating his death like unto another Caruso or Michael Jackson, true musical genius for the ages.
Trump? Let’s see…about eight more weeks until the big convention. Anything can happen, absolutely anything, here in Bizarro Land.
No sign of Mrs. OFD here yet; maybe she took the scenic route up from MA via Pennsylvania or something. Nothing ever happens with them in the early morning or on-schedule. Ever.

:face palm: Thanks for straightening me out @SteveF and @OFD, too many years of a sheltered life. Some days its pretty easy to confuse me; well most days; well more and more days 😉
“Some days its pretty easy to confuse me…”
Likewise. Any detailed ruminations on the technology and engineering of nuclear submarines, or, for that matter, FLASHLIGHTS, and I’m just a quivering blob of jelly on the floor.
What’s scary about my recollections regarding my Nuke days is the classified stuff that I know, that I signed a lifetime pledge not to divulge, is staying clear as a bell.
The problem here was mixing the words tuna and steak. Steak is a t-bone or a rib eye. That other is just fish. (of course I do on occasion indulge. Monkey brains at the sushi joint is about my favorite appetizer. Mushroom cap sliced tempura avocado, spicy tuna, and crab salad drizzled with sriracha mayo and sweet soy , topped with green onions)
that I signed a lifetime pledge not to divulge
I signed one of those at my Joint Sooper Secret Job (JSSJ) ™ at Lackland, AFB.
I never get confused.
… because “getting” confused would require I ever be unconfused. I spend my days stumbling around in an exhausted haze, blundering from one mishap or misunderstanding to the next.
Vote Bernie!

couple of those other guys weren’t bad either.
Sorry, but I’ve no interest in recent pop musicians.
Some are humorous. Like that one tool who was popped a few days ago while rapping about guns.
(If you consider rap to be music, which I don’t, but it’s close enough for me to laugh at the tool’s utterly stupid death.)
OFD’s ranking of rock guitarists:
1.) Jimi
2.) Carlos Santana
3.) Jeff Beck
4.) Clapton
5.) Johnny Winter

7.) Jimmy Page
8.) Frank Zappa
9.) Keef
10.) Duane Allman/Dicky Betts
That solo is truly outstanding.
I had a friend that worked with him during his “unpronounceable symbol” days and had a lot of fun messing with him on the phone.
He really was a great songwriter and musician, even if his music isn’t to everyone’s taste.

Do you not like Manic Monday by the Bangles? Or Sugar Walls by Sheena Easton? Both songs were written by Prince.
When OFD said he was having tuner steak, I was thinking he might have gone off the deep end and decided to eat his ham radio.
I consider “recent” to be anything much later than 1976 or so.
Hey, you kids! Get off my lawn!
Ah, geezer rock….

I consider “recent” to be anything much later than 1976 or so.
Oh man, no AC/DC, Van Halen, Queen, or Guns N’ Roses. At least Led Zeppelin, the Eagles, and Fleetwood Mac mostly fit in that span. And no Kenny Chesney, Lady Gaga, etc…

It’s all low explosives. Ptui! I prefer stuff that will detonate.
I’m another geezer; not much that I care for after the mid-70s, across all genres, too. RBT and I are in good company in that regard with the late Merle Haggard and the jazz guitarist Larry Coryell, who both said the same thing. Merle would only listen to old-school C&W on his radio or classical.

Ofatso just can’t keep his pie hole shut, and this editorial nails it
The only thing the writer gets wrong, is the rhetorical question even being relevant, “Has he forgotten he leads a nation founded to proclaim independence from overseas control, whose citizens died for the right to make their own laws?” as he hasn’t forgotten and he doesn’t lead.

Maybe he’ll piss off enough Brits that Brexit wins…
Obrainless is still flailing around to establish his timeless legacy. His stamp on history. The bit of vandalism to say “I was here”.
He’s done plenty to establish a legacy – just none of it good. That of course won’t keep the future democratic administrations from pretending it is otherwise. Look for him to replace Grant on the fifty dollar bill someday.
Maybe Cuba will put him on one of their bills.
Obullshit could go on the three dollar bill. He’s always been as phony as one.
I always thought the term for a three dollar bill was a synonym for unusual. Is it a microaggression to allude to the q word? Of course there are rumors floating around about Obama being unusual as well. Although personally I find allegations about Obama being homosexual to be blatant slander of homosexuals.
WRT the $3 bill, I’ll state it outright, the phrase is “queer as a 3-dollar bill”. Obutwad is much worse than that and he has performed infinite unspeakable acts of sodomy on the American people.
I see on Drudge that Obutwad has re-angered the German people.
Obutwad legacy, never has one blankety-blank done so much in so little time to ruin the lives of so many people and countries. The USofA is not the only country Obutwad has “changed”.
And you folks that are going to blame Bush and predecessors, you have a point but Obutwad accelerated the destruction beyond all comprehension and has planted so many poison pills in our bureaucracies that it is not reversible without an extended period of great pain.
Gotta go, I hear a drone 😉
Obullshit could go on the three dollar bill.
lol BJ Klinton is already on it. We used to pass the phony bills around while I was still in the Army.
“And you folks that are going to blame Bush and predecessors, you have a point but Obutwad accelerated the destruction beyond all comprehension and has planted so many poison pills in our bureaucracies that it is not reversible without an extended period of great pain.”
All true; I’ve only made the point that we can’t heap it ALL on Obola, as so many have a wont to do. The evil goes back from him through his predecessors a very long way. And I further make the point, again, that Field Marshal Rodham will double- and triple-down on what he has done so far. The rulers are allowing all this and facilitating it for reasons of their own, which I suspect involve the continued destruction of the middle- and working-classes, and rendering us pretty much like a nuclear-armed Brazil or Mexico outside their gated and secured enclaves. My big question is, what are their plans for when the money runs out, the financial house of cards falls, and they’ve killed the goose that was laying the golden eggs for them? Do they REALLY want us to become like the old Soviet Union or Red China or Cuba? A ruling junta at the top, buoyed by their supporting police, troops and nomenclatura, and running a police state with concentration camps and slave labor?

Greg in Oz is correct; I was gonna say it but he beat me to it. A lotta guys will instinctively protect their junk, and all it takes is twisting either thigh slightly to the center, or, reaching down fast enough to grab the kicker’s foot or leg and overturn them. I’d teach women to jab at the eyes and throat and a good hit there will make it easier for the violent kick at the crotch. And then run like hell, screaming all the way.

Great minds think alike… 🙂
