Hot today but a cooler start. It went from 72F to 96+ yesterday over the course of the day and I pretty much expect the same today. The cooler start is appreciated.
Did my pickups. Spent some time at my storage at the end of the day.
Today I’ve got to do more sorting and stacking for the auction. Ideally I’d take a load to the auctioneer with me later. His crew is getting my stuff listed and online very quickly and if I can keep feeding them, they’ll keep doing it. Win for me, win for them.
While I’m at my desk I’ve been ripping my way through a stack of CDs and a few DVDs. It’s good to be making progress on that project. The CDs go very quickly.
Clearing up some of the stacks of stuff, either by selling them, or scanning them to disk, is a good thing.
Meanwhile the world turns and the sands slip through the hourglass, and our world continues to shift and realign. It will look inevitable when they write the history books, no matter that it’s fits and starts and mostly opaque changes while it’s happening. We can see the trend, and it’s not currently toward more liberty, more wealth, and more happiness.
Take the hint and stack.

Things that make you say “Hmmm….”: Disney/ESPN and Moderna.
What’s the Serbian equivalent of “Skippy”?

Jabs are Moderna’s only commercial product. The others in the pipeline are a decade out … unless Control is eliminated.
Disney’s antics with Charter over the last week are even more interesting now.
Serbian Skippy has cute kids.

Obviously, money changed hands to keep that off of as many TV sets as possible.
The Mouse is a whore right now. Wait until the publicity starts for “The Marvels” … brought to you by Nissan.

Food plant destruction is just the same as the rash of forest fires and “died of suddenly and unexpectedly”: Just a coincidence. Nothing to see here.
Currently in Sevierville TN with the RV until Friday. Arrived yesterday, still quite warm here. Site 58 located here on Google Earth. 35.839928, -83.539091 The Ridge Outdoor Resort. There are some really big RVs in this place. Dual rear axle beasts that are the size of a large bus. Some really big 5th wheels. We are on the low end of the scale and must be looked upon as ghetto trash by the others.
We have been here before when the part we are in was under construction. In spite of the satellite view of the location, everything is completed. Grass between sites, trees planted, roads paved, level concrete pads. All the usual amenities, water, sewer, electric, cable TV. The one thing they have that others don’t is an ethernet jack at each site. Last time I was here I connected my own WiFi router for my private WiFi network in the trailer. Fantastic coverage of the entire trailer (that’s a joke).
We will visit a couple of places in Pigeon Forge that we have been before. Will see one show that we have seen four or five times with the last viewing many years ago. They do change the shows somewhat. A dinner show, good food, good entertainment.
I have lived in the area so long I have done just about anything to do in the area. It is a big tourist place, even bigger than Branson MO.

Save a spot for extra special government official.
Just say you are touring the harbor in the dinghy.
Have you been to Cooter’s Place?
We went to the store in Nashville last year. So much political incorrectness.
Before Charlottesville and the pandemic, “The Dukes of Hazzard” was on the verge of being a huge nostalgia thing.
Friends who are up there regularly said that the talk last Summer was about a weed billionaire from Colorado buying Ober Gatlinberg. Apparently, changes are already happening.

For now.
I think it has already happened. My only clue is the name change.
Nope. I avoid the restaurants and will instead patronize the dinners shows.
Have you ever been to Detroit, downtown Atlanta, Portland Oregon, all of Los Angeles, and Barstow? Can’t forget Barstow. I would not frequent any of these places in the day time and avoid at all cost at night.
I’ve stayed in Barstow motels and enjoyed BBQ dinners there. It wasn’t about the town itself, we were 4 wheeling in surrounding Mojave Desert areas.
“The sheriff’s office couldn’t do anything.”
citation for disorderly conduct.
Order to move. Followed by another citation if they disobey a police officer. Through in another for being stupid on the taxpayer’s dime.
Her advance team realized there weren’t going to be enough plugs to go around. One of the station’s four chargers was broken, and others were occupied. So an Energy Department staffer tried parking a nonelectric vehicle by one of those working chargers to reserve a spot for the approaching secretary of energy.
Observation: This useless, worthless EV stunt was organized and planned to tell us all lies. And even with advance planning, they knew they needed an advance team, and that team was equipped with “nonelectric” vehicles. Because reliability, utility, affordability, and infrastructure.
Cooter’s is just a store, run by the actor who portrayed the character on “The Dukes of Hazzard”.
At the Nashville store, Jones has an extensive display of memorabilia which dominates most of the floor space along with examples of cars from the show. Dunno about the Pigeon Forge area store.
It is a huge nostalgia trip.
No matter what they may think, police are not owed automatic obedience to their every order. If it’s not against the law for a gas vehicle to park in the EV charging spot, a ticket for disorderly conduct is an abuse of authority, misuse of process, or whatever’s appropriate in that jurisdiction. The same goes for “failure to step aside and tug the forelock” or whatever invalid ticket would be written.
One of the very few things that I approve of about NYS law is that citizen’s arrest is appropriate for any violation. This includes abuse of authority by stupid pigs, when committed in the citizen’s presence. No police and no prosecutors support the use of this law, in my experience, but it provides a completely legal justification for demanding that a uniformed, on-duty police officer disarm and submit to arrest, and then to forcibly subdue and detain him if he refuses to cooperate.
EDIT: The downvote on drwilliam’s comment was a touchpad fumble which I was unable to undo. I disagree with what he wrote but would never dream of crushing his self-esteem with a downvote.
EDIT 2: Oh, sure, after I edit my comment, I’m able to undo the downvote. Bah. Computers. I hates them, Precious, I hates them.
A lot of costs of the EV-only future are being socialized to society as a whole while only a few will benefit from their use. I wonder what the total of dispatching the cop ended up running for the city. She probably dialed 911.
For what reason?
“The sheriff’s office couldn’t do anything. It’s not illegal for a non-EV to claim a charging spot in Georgia.”
Oh…. “So an Energy Department staffer tried parking a nonelectric vehicle by one of those working chargers to reserve a spot for the approaching secretary of energy.”
Ah, just more of “We are the Fed and We are Better than You Peons” routine.
Hey I know what! Pass another law! Like for parking in a handicap slot or blocking a fire hydrant.

The police routinely use the playbook to harass abortion protestors, conservative groups, and all manner of peaceful actions by non-leftists. Turn the tables, and let them make the trip from DC to Georgia to have their day in court.
Austin prepares for the influx of scum from San Francisco:
Shocking videos show Austin park littered with liquor bottles, needles and junk ‘as far as the eye can see’ as illegal homeless encampment grows
The only thing missing is a nice sinkhole to make the scum feel welcome.

Good in theory. But I bet they can find a judge saying a cop in Georgia has no business interfering with Official Federal Business.
“Dogs of War” by Adrian Tchaikovsky
https://www.amazon.com/Dogs-War-Adrian-Tchaikovsky/dp/1800248938?tag=ttgnet-20/
Book number one of a two book science fiction series. I read the well printed and well bound trade paperback published by Head Of Zeus in 2022, copyright in 2017. I am ordering the second book in the series.
“My name is Rex. I am a good dog”.
Rex is a seven and a half foot (2.25 meter), 1,000 pound (450 kg) dog cyborg built by Redmark Corporation. His bones are synthetic and his skin is synthetic, built to stop bullets and avoid thermal detection. He has built in comms for talking with the other members of his team and Master. Rex can also talk through the air using a voice box. Rex’s front paws have been replaced with human like hands and his brain significantly enhanced with full computer systems for field operations. He carries two Parrot guns (small cannons) on his shoulders for battlefield superiority.
Rex’s Bioform team consists of Honey, an enhanced bear weighing over a ton, Dragon, a twenty foot long enhanced alligator carrying a long barreled weapon for sharpshooting, and Bees, a collective mind of over a thousand enhanced bees with several types of harming fluid in their stingers. And Master, a human with the goal of bringing Bioform teams to usage all over the world in police actions.
Rex’s team is chasing down anarchists in Campeche, Mexico. But it is very difficult to tell between the anarchists and the civilian population. And Master does not care.
Please note that I was really bothered by the descriptions of the civilian atrocities by the Bioform team at the direction of Master using their biofeedback chips.

It’s sort of a surprise “they” let this happen. The park looks like it’s between Congress and Lamar, just south of Town Lake. Within walking distance of Rollingwood and West Lake Hills.
Oh, never mind That’s South Austin and Everyone knows it’s full of white trash.
Someone who is homeless because sh!t happened, should have access to help. The people living in the camps and don’t want help? Chase them out of the city. No sympathy, they can shoot up somewhere else. Then chase them out of there. Tough love, if you will…
The office water well is tripping the breaker today. I have called out the guys with the crane to pull it up and see what is going on. I am betting that the water table has dropped with the drought and that they need to lower the 3 hp pump. Or, the sand filter has broken off the pump again. Oh well, they are on their way.
The pump can pump 30 gpm of ground water to the surface. We use a lot of water, maybe a thousand gallons a day. I would hate to give it up.
The airport is pretty far from that park, but at least one of the hotels near the intersection of 71 and 183 house homeless under a contract from the city.
The Met Center warehouse park is a bunch of bad construction which I believe will eventually become a homeless services complex, anchored by the Austin Food Bank at one end and the VA Clinic at the other.
The tolling company has an office in the Met Center, not far from the VA. Brand new in 2019, when I was fired in Oct. 2020 and went in to get my things, the cubicle space smelled like mold and the office manager had buckets in strategic locations.
Roof leaks or people leaks?
To me the airport in Austin is Mueller. Off of you guessed it, Airport Avenue. I’ve never been to Bergstrom. Heck, that’s out in the sticks like Creedmore.
From here the SA airport is easier. Maybe 20 miles farther. And for all of the faults. San Antonio somehow manages to have a working bus system and every thing at the airport simply works.
Look at Austin. It’s a cluster. I-35 has been a mess since 1980…. and that’s when US183 and Burnet Road was a four way stop sign.
Got the water well fixed for $964. Turned out the control wiring going down into the well had frayed and was shorting out. They pulled the top portion of the water well and spotted the frayed wiring immediately. It fried the relay and controller of course so I had to get a new controller. They fixed it all up.
I am glad that the well pump and motor are ok. The well pump is $2K and the well motor is $2K. Plus labor to pull it up and rewire the whole mess. They were glad too. They already pulled a well pump and motor today.
IIRC, the drilled well is 240 feet deep but the well pump is only 180 feet down. They are having to lower well pumps north of I-10 but not down here. I am 20 miles south of I-10.
I assume roof, but, at that place and the amount of extracirricular activity going on, body fluids weren’t impossible.
Austin-Bergstrom is envisioned as eventually being much bigger than the current size. The facility opened without adequate capacity.
I grew up in Tampa and was used to TIA, which was brand new when we moved to Florida. Everything still works well there, 50 years later, except for rental car access.
OTOH, I can leave the rental car garage and be on a stool at the counter at La Teresita in 10 minutes.
The solution is free drugs if I do the compounding.

When I was flying a lot in the 90’s my doctor told me to take Sudafed thirty minutes before if I had any hint of congestion, and better be safe than sorry. That was after a trip where my ears cleared a couple hours after the outbound flight, but on the return it was a couple of days.
When they started to lock it up and take your name when you bought it I stocked up on the generic at Walgreens. I still have a few tabs left in the spare dopp kit even though I haven’t used it for years.

Wow, that’s a lot of water! Where does it all go?
Note that they aren’t talking about the main ingredient (at least, in Sudafed), namely pseudoephedrine. The ruling applies to phenylephrine, which apparently just gets digested. It would work in a nasal spray, just not in a pill.
The difference to a gas/diesel car is that EVs can catch fire while not being driven. Even though that is unusual, it is new, and therefore gets attention. However, the percentage of EVs that catch fire is a lot smaller than for gas/diesel.
Hybrids actually catch fire the most often. Which maybe isn’t surprising since they contain both gasoline *and* batteries.
