Tues. Sept. 24, 2024 – busy today, maybe at my clients, maybe at home

By on September 24th, 2024 in culture, decline and fall, march to war

Might be a bit cooler if the rain and overcast come. Still probably gonna be humid though. It was hot and enervating yesterday. Low to mid 90s in the afternoon.

Yesterday I didnt really get much of my list done. I was really tired. Sunday working outdoors in the sun must have taken more out of me than I thought. My hands are swollen, stiff, and sore. And my sides, wrapping part way around my back are sore too. Dunno what I did to make that part of me sore.

Did some stuff, but not much, then spent the late afternoon messing with possum and kids.

Today I’m headed to my client’s house to swap him fully to the xfinity fiber. Turns out his locked in contract with ATT has expired, so we can just change over. Competition is going to save him thousands of dollars a year and provide better speeds. I’m interested to see if the follow up crew has buried the fiber…I’m betting no.

WRT preps I won another 4 100W solar panels. Time to get serious about putting a system together, at least as a test bed.

Time to learn something new. Which is a good thing. But I have to fit it into all the other stuff too.

Learning, growing, practicing, and stacking… some full days ahead.

No luck at my hunting last night, but the worst outing to the woods is still better than the best day in the office!

I did have an interesting encounter with a tawny owl, though. It seemed to think I was sitting on its seat (makes sense that owls would use it too, I had a good view…), and installed itself on a branch only a few feet away to examine me.

It eventually seemed to have decided I wasn’t leaving, so it flew off about its owly business, or to Hogwarts. It was my first time seeing a wild owl up close for more than a second or two, so I was delighted with my evening out!

’76F and the sun is out.    Morning!

    Coffee so good…

The two cheapest coffee beans at Costco are the Kirkland Columbian Supremo and the French roast.  Both are under $5/pound.  Both are pretty tasty and more than tasty for the money.   I like dark and strong coffee so I like the French Roast slightly more, but the Colombian is good too.

I guess it’s time to start my day.

In that sense, the US does carry some responsibility for defending Ukraine against this attack. Give them weapons, and let them use those weapons appropriately.

The US weapons require significant training to be used effectively in combat.

NATO troops would have to man the weaponry given the time frame.

The alternatives are worse. German missiles in Kiev? Do you even want to go there?

    Big Smile!

Even the Deep State freak show commands now realize Ukraine is a lost cause. Something happened in the US military command structure this weekend, but we’ll probably never know what exactly.

A nuclear war would put a crimp in those off hours activities.

    “(The Center Square) –
Haitians are not just arriving in Springfield, Ohio, but also in small rural towns nationwide as a result of several Biden-Harris administration policies.”

“Since fiscal 2021, more than 485,000 Haitian illegal border crossers, a record, have been reported by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The overwhelming majority were reported this fiscal year, nearly 216,000, compared to 48,727 in fiscal 2021.”

“Since fiscal 2021 through August, the majority have been apprehended at the southwest border of nearly 262,000, followed by nearly 221,000 nationwide and nearly 2,300 at the northern border, according to the data.”

“Additionally, since July, 205,000 Haitians have been released through the CHNV parole program, according to CBP data. Of the more than 765,000 illegal foreign nationals released into the country through the CBP One app, the top nationality is Haitian. Through these programs, U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas also extended Temporary Permanent Status to them and granted work authorization.”

Fan’s Gambler’s blaming the QB, as if the coach didn’t tell him what to do…

I was actually a bit surprised that they left Mahomes in for that. Why not give a backup QB a little bit of time on field?

    To take a knee?

The game was still too close to risk a botched snap.

Plus “Rah” has a very hot seat in Atlanta for a new coach. Andy Reid did him a favor not sending in the backup.

Prediction: “Rah” will be gone by December.

Mahomes contract is for almost a quarter billion dollars for 4 years.   That means he’s worth some multiple of that to the bottom line, for the team and the owner.

If you can’t pull him out of harms way because your backup can’t be trusted to take a simple snap and a knee … you need a new backup QB.

Even if there is some influence of the unregulated gambling market on the owner and the coach it seems unlikely that KC  would risk an asset like Mahomes in an early season game because of the line on some statistic.  There are a lot of games to go yet in the season, a lot of lines in Vegas…

No. Otterbox Symmetry series is the minimum I would go with an iPhone.

And I have an SE cheapskate model.

i should be flogged. I should be purged.

And so the text of all your calls is captured and used to train an AI, and will eventually be leaked to hackers and .gov without your permission or a subpoena.

Not that Android is any better.  Just moments ago, I activated my new Android and copied everything from my old android of a different vendor.

My old smartphone had gotten so out of date that it wouldn’t update Zelle and it wouldn’t let me run the old version.

I normally go caseless, but the old phone lived in a cheap simple case for years.

No Elysium for you! The Apple clear case looks just like the OtterBox one.

I’m going with a case for now. That iPhone is as slippery as one of Mr. Ray’s farts. I already almost dropped it, so I put the case on.

I am under no illusions that I have privacy.   Especially around my bank transactions, but the fact I use Google for, well, anything leads me believe every aspect of my life is directly and immediately available to the highest bidder.  Free to .gov, no warrant required.

That includes connecting my nom-de-internet with my real identity.   I just keep it to avoid casual doxxing and because I’ve used it for something like 25 years now.  I’m already on all the lists in my real name, since I’ve bought firearms, have a ham license, donated to a politician, voted, worked for a living, …   You know, white racist Christian nationalist stuff like that.

FWIW, I only use Zelle to collect “monthly” payments on one old debt at present, because that’s the way the payer wants it.

Currently at Fall Creek Falls State Park. Arrived Monday and will leave on Friday. Supposed to rain most of the day tomorrow, Thursday and Friday. Bummer. You get what you get when you have to make reservations three months in advance. Packing up on Friday in the rain will not be fun.

Went to a Mennonite Farmer’s Market and picked up a few items. They had really large Mums, twice the size of the ones at Home Depot for $10.00. We had to get at least one. We picked up some vegetables and some salsa that looked to be home made.

The site we are at has water, power and electricity. The RV requires 30 ampere connection. When running the A/C, the water heater and refrigerator we are drawing about 28 amperes. The breaker at the pedestal tripped three times. So I got the 50 to 30 adapter and hooked to the 50 ampere breaker. No more problems. I am not concerned as the RV has a 30 ampere main breaker in the electrical panel. I think the breaker at the pedestal is weak.

We did some bicycle riding around the park. The main path to the falls has a lot of downed trees. A few years ago a tornado went through and took down a lot of trees. The path to the falls is not really usable for bicycles as steps are now required. Except for clearing roads, campsites and trails, the park leaves the trees where they fell so a lot of the destruction is still visible.

Carson Wentz is more valuable to Andy Reid as an unknown quantity as the season goes on and injuries start.

Wentz is on a year contract for his fourth team in as many years. Why put him in to possibly botch a snap and ruin his trade value.

Everyone on the field understood the game was over. Mahomes getting injured in a player stunt would have been the end of “Rah’s” career, regardless of outcome of the season.

”Rah” was a failure in Tampa because he lost control of the players Gruden recruited. This is his last chance as a head coach.

Well.  Successfully transitioned my client to xfinity.   Getting the full 500Mbps up and down at the ubiquiti Security Gateway.   They still haven’t buried the fiber.

Got ddns set up and working since xfinity doesn’t have a fixed IP.

edited my VPN so it works with the NOIP ddns service.   I used to only have 5 aliases with NOIP, now I have 25… who knew?

Setup an Admin account for my business partner on the client’s ubiquiti management console and got the new ddns info to him.  Now I have a ‘hit by a bus’ backup.

Checked that the cams are working remotely.

Now I just have to update the drawings and find my label printer and update some cable labels…. but that will be next visit.

And then, when the leadership meets in person, because their  whole C2 network is fubared, we’ll missile them to decapitate what’s left…

Even Harris surrogates are having difficultly answering basic questions about Kamala’s vision.

“OK, what is Harris’ plan? We’re waiting,” [Fox News’ Sandra] Smith asked again.

In the most substantive part of the interview, Hyman — instead of pitching Harris’ economic plan — said Americans can look it up for themselves. Then, for some reason, she boasted about Harris’ controversial plan to ban price-gouging.

“Okay, there’s a lot of aspects to it in regards to looking at it online,” Hyman said. “So let’s talk about lowering the grocery cost because that’s something that’s brought up. The viewers can look at this online. She talks about certain things in regards to advancing the first federal ban on price-gouging on food and groceries, to set clear rules to the road to make clear that big corporations can’t unfairly exploit consumers —”

Referring to allegations of price-gouging, Smith immediately challenged, “Is that happening?”

“I don’t know if that’s currently happening or not because I’m not privy to that type of information, but there are people costing a lot of money in regards to groceries,” Hyman responded.

    https://legalinsurrection.com/2024/09/washington-post-accidentally-admits-earth-at-coolest-point-in-the-last-485-million-years/

The third graph just shortens the timeline for geologic temperature history from 485 to 225 million years.

The fourth graph show CO2 over geologic time.

Together they destroy the global warming zealots claims. Add the analysis in the article linked, and it makes the case that we are being played for other reasons.
