Warm, moist, dark. Some chance of rain later in the day. So say the liars. Dunno what we’ll get but I’ll be sure to be inconvenienced by it… I spent most of yesterday doing indoor stuff anyway, but it was nice in the afternoon.
Did a bunch of sorting, cleaning, and work avoidance techniques to keep from crawling around in the attic. That is going to change today, as D1 saw something skitter across the kitchen floor last night. Small and fast. Attic I can live with. In the house? No. HeII no. More traps, more poison, more wire mesh covering holes. Whatever it takes.
So that is the mission for today. And doing a pickup or two. And sorting and putting away, with a stop at my secondary to get Bounty paper towels while dropping some stuff off. Costco was completely out of Bounty paper towels yesterday. I’ve got some in deep storage and I’m going by there anyway…
Later there is some kid stuff to do at her school. Then the wife and D2 head to the BOL with friends for a girls’ weekend while I stay home and catch up on the list.
I have to pull my head out and get some stuff done. I’m falling behind and it isn’t good.
Oh, the freezers are full, and the pantry is in good shape, but other stuff needs attention too. So stack, but don’t forget the other stuff…

Good luck with them varmints, Nick!
Rain seems to be down for the day here, and it is cold. November weather in April.
Currently trying to impose order on the gub safe. Grr. Should have a bigger house!
Paul, hang in there. What everyone else has said. Thinking of you. Keep on letting us know how you’re doing, even if that is only “awful”. You may be by yourself, but you are not alone.
Jenny, good on you for stepping up to the bat when your help was needed. Once can never assume that someone else is taking care of “it”, whatever “it” is. Having worked closely withe emergency services, I know for a fact that they would much rather be called once too often than not the one time that it was truly necessary.
Musk is not conservative. His current Libertarian-leaning schtick is an act designed to take advantage of lack of leadership on that side of the political aisle, particularly in Texas, and serves as another distraction from the failures to deliver at TSLA.
The company reports the latest earnings on Tuesday, April 23.
Musk is an opportunist, similar to Tulsi Gabbard but not as many people want to have sex with him.
Speaking of which …

Lots of Deep State/ex-military live in Leander. The Texas gold reserve facility is also there.
Are you sure? Money is a powerful aphrodisiac…
72F and clear with the sun coming up.
wrt Musk, watching his interviews, he’s a lot more convincing than his words alone. And whatever ELSE he is, he controls 80% of mankind’s access to space, and is the current (and only) hope of getting humans off this rock. He’s put his d!ck and money where his mouth is and is fathering children left and right to counter population decline among educated and well off white people.
Tesla has ALWAYS been a side project, boob bait for the bubbas as Aesop puts it. It’s in his nature to succeed at what he attempts, but I don’t believe he’s on a mission to replace ICE cars. I do believe he’s on a mission to get humans off planet.
He’s got FU money and unlike some others he’s willing to say it.

In lieu of insightful commentary from my own brain, I give you a very ‘worth your time’ article from one of my trade magazines.
https://www.mhlnews.com/global-supply-chain/article/21283627/logistics-management-braces-for-the-future
I recommend the whole thing, but at least read the Analysis and Commentary first part of the article.
EVERYTHING physical that we buy, use, or consume passes thru the ‘supply chain’ and these guys are both well placed, and pragmatic. It’s about atoms, not bits. The author gets that. The purely bits guys who got involved are getting creamed because it’s not just about the data flow, the atoms flow too, and they get stolen, damaged, lost, delayed, spoiled, put on trucks that hit bridge abutments, and on ships that catch fire… and vise versa.

If you have a teenage daughter, then you may be aware that the new Taylor Swift album has been released.
RFK, jr on ballot in Michigan
https://hotair.com/karen-townsend/2024/04/19/look-out-joe-rfk-jr-is-on-the-michigan-ballot-n3786814
He was denied Secret Service protection for the fifth time last week.
I don’t, but I looked her up on Wikipedia just now: 35yo. At some point she won’t be attractive to teen girls any more.
She’s not attractive now.
There is something of the “uncanny valley” about her face and brow to me. Also she wears a really unattractive leotard thing in concert. For someone fit and nicely shaped, it’s very odd.
Elon Musk has something weird with his face too, just so I’m an equal opportunity offender. He looks like too much botox or something. It doesn’t look “normal”.
n
It’s okay. She’s already a billionaire. 🙂
Heck, Beyoncé is 42.
She is a savvy and successful individual.
n
From what I’ve read, Taylor Swift us actually a pretty “grounded” person. I agree, there’s something odd about her face. My theory (completely without evidence) is that her makeup is designed to make her harder to recognize offstage.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13325763/Gas-station-Atlanta-Decatur-Shootout.html
Just living their best lives…
n
Anybody that banged Tom Hiddleston (and plenty of weird Whitey! guys) is un-grounded. I wish I was in her “pool”.
Sigh. My daughter and many of her friends, adore Ms Swift. My husband perpetuates it. I neither like nor dislike her music. Husband took kiddo and girls to the movie theater multiple times to watch the tour. I eventually relented and went with. It was a production and entertainment but it didn’t much seem like a music concert. I would have enjoyed it with a bare set, 3 piece band, and less flash. Probably.
I admire how Ms Swift changes with the ebb and flow of her fans, her business savvy. She’s got a lot of youngsters playing music. When we’ve got a houseful of kiddo and friends, they troop downstairs to the drum set, pull out the instruments I’ve got stashed for them, and make a lot of racket emulating Ms Swift. That’s a good outcome.
Saw KungFu Panda 4 last night. Funnier than it had any right to be. Drum lesson prior, kid has mad skills. Dinner in the small attached mall between drums and movie. Briefly “lost” my 12 year old after dinner from 6:50 – 7:25. 20 of that was “lost kid mode”. The mall closed at 7. She headed for bathroom while I headed to a particular store. Mall closing got us separated for a bit. Security folks very helpful. The fact she looks 14/16 made it a little harder for her to get help – store clerks didn’t provide useful assistance and she didn’t phrase her request for aid in a way that alerted the clerks her need was genuine.
She stayed calm, as did I. Wasn’t particularly worried about kidnapping , pondered trafficking risk. Had a good conversation after about both. Reiterated fighting, why to put everything into getting loose at primary snatch point and why, actual risk of death from threat with gun / knife vs fear of pain, etc. Also discussed actual age and apparent age and how that affected receiving assistance. “I’m 12 and can’t find mom. Help me” is a useful phrase.
Made it to movie on time. A good night and the brief “lost” gave me a chance to reiterate some important stuff we’ve been teaching.
Musk is plastic surgery. Who knows about Taylor Swift.
Both remind me of the Female Shapeshifter/Dominion boss on “Deep Space Nine”. IIRC, the actress was Salome Jens.
IIRC, Swift is an honorary member of the Grand Ole Opry and has appeared on stage, but I doubt she could perform there now without the place being overwhelmed unless she snuck in on a slow night.
The Opry has strict traditions and rules. Elvis only appeared there once by invitation as his fame started to grow.
He wasn’t invited back.
The Opry is on my list of things to see if we ever get back to Tennessee to finish our trip. I’m not so much interested in the music as much as the facility tour offered before the show.
“Hee Haw” was filmed in the TV studio. TV history is TV history.
And Tampa’s Dr. Paul Bearer appeared in the cornfield on “Hee Haw”.
I crossed House on the Rock off my “to do” list in November. The place was extremely overwhelming, and, unfortunately, we had a tight schedule that afternoon, which was the last Regular Season day for 2023.

It is hilarious watching plugs’ spokes-clown-amish-gay-fem trying to defend his “cannibals ate my uncle after he was shot down flying combat missions in WWII…” story.
The records were available and every word of the story was a lie.
tRump, tho.
I’m playing with lighting and messing with the track lights. A step stool is needed to dust the fixtures. They’re supposed to be off-white, Lightolier that I bought in the early ‘80’s if that makes a difference. I think Halo was a different shade of white. 250, maybe 150 watt fixtures with R40 shades. I never went past 75w floods but I left the option available. I haven’t dusted them for several years and it shows.
So far it’s just a take the fixture to the kitchen to wipe off the dust and a bit of Windex to clean off what appear to be fly spots…. though with the cobwebs… who knows.
Well. Lamps. I have Phillips LED floods. 65 or 75 watt incandescent equivalents. Come to think, all of my floods are Phillips. Phillips had and may still have LED floods that change color as they are dimmed. Like an incandescent bulb. Nice bulbs with a smooth light pattern.
Coming up I’ll be digging into the settings of the stereo to tweak the surround levels. I shall resist the urge to disconnect the speakers at each end of the wire to “get a fresh connection”. Because that’s what folks that buy Monster Cable do. I’m cool with 16 gauge lamp cord.
And then drag all of the furniture out of the living room to clean the carpet.
I have plans. Somewhere in there I need to buy a battery for the riding mower. The grass is getting rather tall.
I said I was bouncing off of the walls.
FedEx? Still out for delivery. Shrug.
Everyone involved knows Biden won’t be the nominee in September.

If you need to give them someone else to emulate.
Fortunately it’s not -all- Ms Swift. One year they performed Herman’s Hermits take on Henryvthe VIIIth. It was hysterical and awesome and sweetly innocent.
My kiddo has eclectic taste in music, favoring older stuff from the 80’s because of our influence. Her friends are more modern…
His phone has Facebook. Which constantly makes noise. I don’t want to see any of his FB stuff, not my beeswax. But finally, a press and hold on the drop down notification opened the options for FB. Yeah….. no notifications from the app.
I don’t have FB on my phone. Not even through the browser. So I learned something of little importance.
The e-mail notifications are easy.
I’m keeping his phone alive for a few to several months just in case someone calls him and I can pass on the news. I suspect the phone will sit on charge the entire time gathering dust. I’m sure as heck not calling all of his contacts that never call him.
He has a Dallas phone number. (214) 728-xxxx and he’s had a few offers to buy the number. Not sure how that works. But someone offered him a couple of hundred bucks.
FedEx is still “out for delivery”.
Sure is quiet here.
@Jenny
Time to prep personal defense.
1) Highly recommend some martial arts training. Reaction needs to be learned and practiced, but most important is situational awareness.
2) Highly recommend this video from James Williams (no relation, wish he was)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVRkAEq5Brs
3) I do not recommend a knife. Even though I’ve gifted an number of female relatives with this one:
https://www.bladehq.com/item–Ontario-RAT-Model-1-Knife-Pink–18578
(note: the selection of “not black” blade is intentional in combination with the pink “girlie” knife”)
there is too much law enforcement prejudice against them unless you have a good back story, and schools are impossible. Best to build up a history of knife use before you carry. A Leatherman multi-tool is a good place to start for home/farm use, and the “baby” version, the Micra, is a good companion. They are not the best to learn sharpening, but I recommend that as a kitchen skill to start.
Case in point: the Miu trial: ‘Why did you have a knife?” Excuse me? Why are you wearing shoes? I’ve had a knife in my pocket for more than five decades, counting at least from 10th grade when an English teacher who knew my interest gave me a knife that I then carried until graduation. My EDC at various times has been Imperial, Buck, Gerber, OKT, Opinel, and probably others I don’t recall offhand, and I’ve often had a utility or other knife in addition. I’ve lost them, abused the, chipped them, broken them, and learned to clean and sharpen them as a matter of habit. I open letters, cut twine, cheese, sausage, apples and bread, open boxes, cut cardboard, shape wood, and do about everything that you’d expect from a useful pocket tool.
What is she listening to? I have a lot of music and it’s all getting repetitious some days. We can swap USB sticks of mp3 files. Though CDs or DVDs might be better.
I don’t listen to the radio. The metal roof. killed that. And in the car/truck it’s all commercials from here to town.
I’ve never been much for toting a pocket knife. I had a pocket knofe in 5th grade. But I almost always had a box cutter handy. And a few single edge razor blades.
Our daughter and her friends discovered Weezer last year. Several were upset about Hef appearing in this video, obviously something requested by the band.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HL_WvOly7mY
Times have changed. Geesh, that was 20 years ago.
I linked Weezer’s greatest video (IMHO) below. Yeah, a lot of people would go with “Buddy Holly”, but re-creating the Muppet Theater set from the 70s was a labor of love for someone.
Plus, Frank Oz as Miss Piggy. That doesn’t happen anymore.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOIsYA1QDuk
Weezer is getting airplay on Alt Nation on XM/Sirius, both old and newer stuff.
When I’m in the car with youngest and we have XM or the radio on we talk about the quality of the production, the dynamic range, structure of the song (yeah it’s got a good hook, but all they do is repeat that 30 times…) all sorts of technical things. She’s expressed an interest in producing music (not making it). I’m going to set up an audio workstation for her at some point, with ProTools, a loop program, midi, and her keyboard. Mic and mixer too.
We started them early on a wide range of stuff from Johnny Cash and Hermans Hermits (they can sing along to Henry the VIII) to 80s, to musical theater. Not much opera or classical as W and I don’t listen to it. jazz, blues, pop from 8 decades, it’s all on their play lists.
Even old school rap.
n
So far, I’ve got 630 artists in my music folder on the server. That doesn’t include wife’s itunes library.
The sucky thing is I know I have more music that I used to listen to all the time, and I don’t know where those discs are. I think they’re at the secondary location, buried about 5 feet deep into the pile….
n
The “Million Dollar Quartet” live session with Johnny Cash, Elvis, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis was the latest addition to the flash drive for the car on this trip.
If you ever go to Memphis, Sun Records is a must, as important as Graceland, maybe more.
I bought the album at Sun almost two years ago, but I’m still working down the pandemic album backlog.
Kiddo has been using a sharp knife in the kitchen since she was old enough to follow instructions, and whittling since she was 6 or 7. She has a longer “I carry and use a knife” than some adults. She owns several folders, a decent carving set for whittling, and a couple handy straight blade in a sheath. Not at school, obviously, but she nearly always has a folder on her. She gives away most of her whittling as she goes so theres a nice long history of knife carrying and use.
Getting her into a self defense class has been on the to do list for awhile. most (not all) of the defense places up here either have a lower age limit, or are focused on competing. She’s recently reached the magical age for a couple places so that’ll happen this summer.
Thanks for the music ideas.
Somewhat discouraging news for my friend. Hospitalization is going to last several days, then into a rehab facility for undetermined length of time. My immediate experience with this scenario is the person goes in and departs in a coffin. I’m very concerned.
@paul
I started using Facebook as a necessary evil when my dad fell ill several years ago. I keep my “friends“ list tight, under 50, and only folks I’ve actually met in person for 90%.
Facebook does have a setting for “owner passed way”. Depending on how heavy a FB user your beloved was, that may be a good thing to enable.
For what it’s worth, not much perhaps, the puttering and cleaning are pretty typical and I suspect generally healthy ways of keeping your body occupied as your mind and heart stretch to comprehend the loss. I’ve lost most of my friends and family though I’m only mid 50’s, and have seen your struggles too often.
take it literally five minutes at a time. The grief washing over you -will- change and -will- get less consuming, though never “easer”. You’ll adapt over time and live alongside it. Staying busy is a blessing.
So…anybody want to buy a flip phone? I knew keeping them in the stacks was a good idea…

I flushed a 10 inch long tree rat who had nested in my dishwasher insulation a decade ago. The tree rat ran between my legs and right past my 15 lb siamese male cat. The cat looked at me and clearly said “Did you see that ?”. I screamed at him, “kill it ”. He replied, “Who, me ?”. I finally killed it with a broom.

My 36 year old daughter promptly emailed me. Tortured poets indeed.
The “Civil War” movie was awesome. Me and Dad just sat there and watched the USA being destroyed. The mass graves were incredibly disturbing. The settling of old scores was predicable. The street fighting in DC was incredibly realistic.
We are living in the good old days right now.
Tesla has ALWAYS been a side project, boob bait for the bubbas as Aesop puts it. It’s in his nature to succeed at what he attempts, but I don’t believe he’s on a mission to replace ICE cars. I do believe he’s on a mission to get humans off planet.
Musk may have the first real application of AI for Tesla auto driving soon. He is claiming that stage 4 is coming in August.

@Jenny, you may have done it already while waiting for a class, and just my 2 cents, but between now and then knowing some basics can’t hurt. Such as a foot or a knee to the groin, a thumb to the eye, even screaming “FIRE,” anything that startles an attacker for those few vital seconds to be able to run like heck.
So…anybody want to buy a flip phone? I knew keeping them in the stacks was a good idea…

The USA Border Patrol has been downloading peoples phones for over a decade now. If you are within 100 miles of a USA border then they supercede the 5th amendment.
That reminds me of this scene from Jon Favreau’s “Chef”.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hr6XSNsuiQ
“Chef” is an awesome parent-child relationship film, but it has a lot of naughty words.
OTOH, no nudity/sex. This is the raciest scene in the movie:

No, the police cannot make you unlock your phone. They can make you touch your phone so that it will unlock with your fingerprint – but you’re NOT required to register your fingerprints on the phone. And you’re not required to enter your PIN or passcode. So if your phone hasn’t been set up to recognize fingerprints, the police are out of luck.
Jenny, and other parents of middling-age girls, I have a different take on self defense for young women. Realistically, almost no unarmed 12-year-old girl is going to be able to fight off a serious assault or a kidnapping attempt. What they need to learn is 1) scream like an air raid siren, 2) flail around like a monkey on crack, to make it hard to keep hold of her and carry her away, and 3) above all else, situational awareness situational awareness situational awareness. Plus the meta-lesson 4) You aren’t the baddest biyotch in town just because you took Tai Kwan Do lessons for two months.
Much the same goes for grown women. The most fit 10% women can probably beat the least fit 10% of men. Most women are better off running away or – crazy thought here – not getting themselves into a fraught situation in the first place. Was in really a good idea to leave the club with that guy you just met and to tell your sober friends, nah, I’m fine, you don’t need to come with me?
It’s different if they’re able to carry a weapon where they can get it quickly, whether a pistol on the hip, a fixed-blade knife (foldies are about useless for self defense), a claw hammer on a tool belt, or even a can of oven spray in an open-top grocery bag. However, the safety nannies, the retards, and the wreckers have made it virtually impossible for the most vulnerable and the most at-risk to effectively arm themselves, so that’s at best a nice step up from the expectation.
None of this is to say that self defense classes are useless for women and girls. Lessons and practice can help if a girl is attacked by another girl. That’s assuming that the class teaches something useful and practical, not a good bet, in my experience. Having taken lessons can also pose a legal hazard. “My precious princess was arguing with that boyfriend thief and then the trained thug used her martial arts training to beat up my darling!”
A reliable sign of a good martial arts or self defense class for kids (or anyone, really) is that one of the first things they teach is that there’s no shame in walking away from a fight. That running away is also a valid option. Talking your way out of a fight, de-escalating, is good. And be aware of your surroundings. My understanding is that this is becoming more common than it was even a decade ago but I have no personal experience. Just something to watch for if you look for an instructor.
A useful alternative is some kind of lesson or sport or activity which forces one to practice balance, proprioception (knowing where your body parts are relative to the rest and to the world), and explosive bursts of strength. These form a good foundation for learning self defense later, once the skeleton’s about done with all that growing nonsense and has toughened up. They are also useful for many other aspects of life, like being able to walk through a cluttered room without knocking things off the table or stepping on that pile of knick-knacks.
Border or coastline, including the Great Lakes. That puts about 60% of the population under their jurisdiction IIRC.
I don’t, but I looked her up on Wikipedia just now: 35yo. At some point she won’t be attractive to teen girls any more.
She writes and sings songs about bad boys. All teen girls love and hate bad boys. Taylor Swift will be popular forever.
While children are generally forbidden to have weapons, not all weapons are obviously “weapons”. Something like the “Resquestick Rescue Glass Breaker” is the size of a small flashlight, but can smash a pane of auto glass – and likely put a nice dent in an attacker’s skull. The other end is a seat belt cutter. And since it’s a safety device and clearly NOT an offensive “weapon”, it might attract little attention.
There’s a popular meme on X these days about how Taylor Swift sings songs about her terrible choices in men – and then endorses Joe Biden.
She gets at least one hit song out of each breakup, seems like.

I’ve been trying to think how I can frame this article, and the next one I’ll link, but words fail me.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-13325505/woman-buying-home-ruined-financially-debt-repairs.html
Buys an 80yo house, that she KNOWS “needs a lot of work”. Gets a down payment loan on top of the mortgage “so she’ll have more cash for all the work that needs doing.” Gets a cr@p inspector. Most places they have ZERO required training, experience, or liability, and “pretty good for its age” is damning with faint praise.
Someone, more than one someone, saw this baby duck coming and then bent her over… there is no way to miss the termite damage or dry rot if it was as extensive as she says. And the electrical? 80yo sweetheart. Of course it suxx.
Did she have no one with experience she could get a gut check from? No mention of men in her life, but a lesbian with a remodel project under her tool belt would have been OK too.
Ignorant people will be taken advantage of. Ignorant women doubly so.
n
It’s been a few years since I heard this joke, but it’s relevant to this convo.
“Just think if Taylor Swift dated Adele and then they had a bad breakup. The songs we’d get from both of them!”
And then there is this.

TL:DR
She gets drugged, raped, tied up, raped. Ends up feeling sh!tty and abused. WTF? No one told her that for men and women sex is different? That the “hookup culture” was a barren and lonely place? That men are just using the apps for the same thing she PROFESSED to want it for, no commitment sex with strangers? Literally one step up from masturbation and an alternative to prostitutes?
Did she not see that the TV character was already a mature woman, with agency and experience, who chose her partners and kept returning to the same one? and, hello, TV! NOT REAL LIFE.
WTF is wrong with people? The real world HURTS.

@SteveF
yep, not being there in the first place. And weak male is generally stronger than strong female, much less child. Shrieking like a banshee is good. I took a Cornered Cat class years ago and have been teaching her some of the rudiments. We talk and practice a lot of situational awareness, and discuss the realities of self defense. She doesn’t have any real experience with being truly in pain and keeping going. That’s where a self defense type class will be useful. I had a Shetland at her age and learned a lot about pain, shock, and continuing on. Later I played in the SCA and learned pretty convincingly the strength differential between men and women was insurmountable, at least for me. Getting hit hurts, sometimes a lot, that doesn’t mean one should stop, though. Comparing bruises after fighter practice was an oddly satisfying ritual. And Firearms are a great equalizer.
Trying to share this wisdom with one’s daughter is challenging.
@nick
Sex is a lot of fun. Also a great way to get killed if you’re indiscriminate about your partners. I enjoyed my twenties, in hindsight I’m astonished I didn’t get myself in trouble.
@nick
You shouldn’t have to get to know a guy before having sex with him, to give him the all-clear before letting him into your bedroom.
This line is stunningly foolish.

Just the words “binge watching” raised red flags in my mind. Then came the words “Sex and the City”.
Defense would like to excuse this juror, your honor.
Also, Kim Cattrall, “Samantha”, didn’t return for the latest incarnation of “Sex and the City”.
@jenny, I’m a child of the 80s. Drinking age was 18 so you started much younger and were routinely drinking by 15. Drugs were cheap and pure and plentiful, if you were into that. Sex wouldn’t kill you and anything you might get was curable. Condoms were “rubbers” and were for dirty sailors… and if you did have sex, you probably did a lot of foreplay first (long before you had sex the first time, and as part of the act once you started having intercourse.) You also didn’t have access to porn videos showing the extremes of behavior that there are now. You couldn’t pay the most degraded pro to do what people think is normal if all they do is watch porn now.
So I have a bit of sympathy for the kids today, but JEBUS H that woman-child was ignorant.
Or perhaps that’s just the end stage of the “sexual revolution” where in the name of freedom, women become nothing more than receptacles for men’s sexual release.
If I didn’t have two young daughters it would be just a bit of academic interest, but they are going to go out into this degraded world. They will not be as clueless as that person though.

@greg, the gaunt face with the bruised looking eyes says “long time eating disorder” and serious self image issues. The rest of it says “I’ll be the victim” (‘all your life’- Wednesday Addams). Doesn’t have to be that way, but it’s the way to bet unless someone intervenes.

She gets at least one hit song out of each breakup, seems like.
Taylor Swift apparently wrote three songs for John Mayer. The first is Dear John. Somebody needs to put that boy down. Scat games, really ?

>> wrt Musk, watching his interviews, he’s a lot more convincing than his words alone.
Re TESLA, I see it more as “I can control 80% of many things if/when I choose to.”
Re ‘space,’ what’s his latest flight time from Earth to Mars…and do we believe him?

My friend posted doctors think it’s Guillain-Barré syndrome;
Isn’t that what killed our friend and much missed OFD, in pretty short order?

He was denied Secret Service protection for the fifth time last week.
Latest poll I saw said RFK hurts FJB more that OHBM.
So it’s just coincidence that FJB controls the Sec Service…right?
@nick
Ditto. Times are much changed and far more dangerous. The proliferation of gross demeaning violent porn has shifted ‘normal’. More corruption of all things going on in this poor country.
>> From what I’ve read, Taylor Swift us actually a pretty “grounded” person. I agree, there’s something odd about her face. My theory (completely without evidence) is that her makeup is designed to make her harder to recognize offstage.
Lady Gaga is the queen of hiding behind makeup on / makeup off.
>> FedEx? Still out for delivery. Shrug.
FedEx Ground drivers are independent contractors.
@jenny,
Isn’t that what killed our friend and much missed OFD, in pretty short order?
Yes. although I understand that it doesn’t have to get that bad.
Still it’s not a great diagnosis.

The ‘real stuff’ can permanently blind someone and get you sued…so best to follow up with the SSS protocol.

Last I heard, to some people and the USA government, it is now 56. To others, it is 2.
BTW, if you are in the 2 group, the USA federal goverment says that you are a criminal as of Friday.

@jenny, I’m a child of the 80s. Drinking age was 18 so you started much younger and were routinely drinking by 15.
I am a child of the 70s. Started drinking when I was 18 at TAMU. Legally. Before MADD messed things up. Shoot, we had a bar across street from my campus dorm that opened at noon, the Dixie Chicken.
I only met one girl in the 70s who was willing to have sex before a relationship was established and she scared the crap out of me. So that did not happen even though it was offered after I took her to a Cheap Trick concert. The other 10+ I dated were no freaking way until long comittment.
