Mon. Nov. 7, 2022 – well, it’s Monday again…

By on November 7th, 2022 in decline and fall, personal

Not so cool, but certainly damp.   I’m guessing, but it was 77F and dripping when I went  to bed.  Absent a cold front coming through, it’s still gonna be both of those things in today.

It was nice at the BOL, with the sun staying hidden most of the day.   The brief time it was out, it burned like fire.

I got the main goal done.   The middle bedroom has a vapor barrier applied to the floor.   Getting to where I could make that statement took a bit more effort than I hoped.   And grinding concrete.  And epoxy.  And more grinding.   In any case, it should be ready to put the floor back in next weekend.

I ticked a couple of minor things off my list too, and even took an hour while the epoxy was curing to throw the lure into the lake  a few times.   No fish were biting.

Today I need to focus on home stuff.   And auction stuff of course.   If it’s not raining I’ll head to my storage unit and do more sorting.  If it is raining, I’ll do stuff here indoors.

I need some sales so I can do some more stacking.

There is always more you can do, and more you can stack.  Get busy.

    Tired,  need an early night.

Always easier after fall back, even with the supposed “extra” hour.

Disney/Marvel is circling the drain, and the future projects will be savaged on Twitter by upset fans willing to pay $8/month to have their voices heard.

Didn’t actually get an early night, despite starting my “end of day” routine an hour earlier.   Had a fitful night too.

    72F and saturated this am.

It’s not 82F but it’s not 52F either.   Seems weirdly warm.

Back in SA. Rode the Southwest Max8 again. I like it. Off to Miami on Wed and start the TCM Cruise on Sat. We may get to the Grand Caymans and just stay to avoid COVID 2.0 when plugs releases it.

Actually, I think plugs’ handlers have let him off his leash to self destruct. Then they can run a Black Lesbian or Tranny of their choice in 2024.

Hurricane season runs through the end of November. Anything in Florida during the season is a cr*p shoot.

Late Winter/Early Spring is generally predictable weather, but the most damaging storm in Tampa in recent history was the March ’93 “No Name” event, a Noreaster that blew up in the Gulf and swept N-NE.

Update on Ebola Virus Disease (Sudan ebolavirus) Outbreak in Central Uganda

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is issuing this Health Alert Network (HAN) Health Update as a follow-up to a HAN Health Advisory (Outbreak of Ebola virus disease (Sudan ebolavirus) in Central Uganda) issued on October 6, 2022. This Health Update serves to inform public health departments, public health laboratories, and clinicians in the United States about the ongoing outbreak of Ebola virus disease (EVD) in Uganda caused by Sudan virus (species Sudan ebolavirus). No suspect or confirmed EVD cases related to this outbreak have been reported in the United States (U.S.) or other countries outside of Uganda to date. However, as a precaution because of increasing cases in Uganda, CDC is communicating with public health departments, public health laboratories, and healthcare workers in the United States to provide an update and raise awareness of this outbreak and the potential for importation of cases.

Weird happenings: I was at the 99-cent store yesterday and they had no shopping carts.

When I asked the clerk they said that all 40 of their brand new carts had been stolen, and all of their hand baskets. The carts all had the anti-theft wheel locks, so it was a major heist.

At a guess, someone is selling them to the “homeless”.

“You are probably aware that el-Sisi runs a brutal, highly authoritarian, dictatorial regime in Egypt. He has murdered protesters, tortured activists, snuffed out political opponents, censored the press, and more.  In Egypt’s 2018 presidential ‘election’, for example, el-Sisi miraculously won 97% of the vote, making him even more popular than Joe Biden.”

Yes, all the carts that you see homeless with have been stolen.  There are no stores that sell them.  Consequently, all homeless that you see with a cart could be arrested, charged with stealing one or harboring stolen equipment.

Need something to do?  To tinker with your Win11 computer?  Download Power Toys .  Works on Win10, too.`

Save for a rainy and cold day.

There are a few neat features that I turned off.  I don’t have a Win Key on my keyboard.  Like I would ever remember the win+ combo.  Ctrl-C and etc. is about it.

Mouse utilities… I have the ctrl button set to do the “sight rings” for lack of a better term.  Sometimes I still can’t find the mouse. This adds a spot light effect.

Awake…  keeps the machine on, handy when using bit torrent.  You don’t have to mess with your power plans. Although I think utorrent keeps the machine on if it is running.  But for things like copying an entire hard drive across the LAN, or downloading your entire website, yeah, could be handy.

Hosts File Editor…. needs looking at, may be easier and quicker than editing a copy of the file and dropping it in to System.  May be easier than digging down to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

Image Resizer… looks interesting.  Resize a lot of pictures all at once.  I don’t resize pictures often.  I think Paint Shop Pro can do this.  Looks like something useful for Ray.

Keyboard Manager… something to look at later.  Maybe I can make the Scroll Lock key act like the Win key?  Does Scroll Lock even do anything other than make noise like Num Lock and Caps Lock?

Power Toys Run… pretty cool.  Alt-space and start typing.  https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/powertoys/run

Looks like it may rain any moment now.  And suddenly it’s sunny.  Nice day to have the windows open.

“Joe Biden on Friday delivered remarks on his CHPIS and Science Act at the Viasat headquarters in Carlsbad, California.  Biden celebrated coal plant workers losing their jobs.  “No one is building new coal plants because they can’t rely on it,” Biden said on Friday in north San Diego county. “Even if they have all the coal guaranteed for the rest of the existence of the plant.””

““So it’s going to become a wind generation,” Biden added. “And all they’re doing is, it’s going to save them a hell of a lot of money and using the same transmission line that they transmitted the coal-fired electric on. We’re going to be shutting these plants down all across America and having wind and solar power.””

But wind and solar power does not work at temperature extremes.   So we are either going to freeze or sweat.   Thanks Slow Joe !

Not much credibility there in the so-called climate models.

Ok.  I received from Big River a cabinet slide out.  Two levels.  It seems to be very well made.  I didn’t expect it to fit under the kitchen sink what with the RO filters on one side and the RO pressure tank on the other side along with all the plumbing.

So let us go with Plan B.  Bathroom.  Dang thing is about an inch too long.  The upper tray is a bit shorter.  It looks like you bolt the rails to the tray.  This may work, I just want a slide out “drawer” under the sink so I’m not on hands and knees with a FLASHLIGHT to see what is there.

And you know, I have a hacksaw.  White Trash Engineering WILL win.
