Mon. Feb. 18, 2019 – Presidents’ Day

47F and damp. Cold blew in yesterday afternoon, and hasn’t left.

Presidents’ Day means I’ve got the kids at home. Wife will be working, and hoping she can get a lot done without interruptions.

I did get some things done yesterday, but not anywhere near enough. We’ll see what today brings.

Sat. Feb. 16, 2019 – all the narratives come unravelled…

65F and wet. Of course. Because NOAA said it would be dry, and because yesterday was beautiful.

All the narratives are coming apart.

Russian collusion.
Robust economy.
Diversity is our strength.
War is peace.
American supremacy.
3rd rate actor gets pummeled.
Democrats are the party of the working man.
MSM informing the world/press as watchdog.
Violent crime is falling.
Drugs are good.
on and on

The US is about to sneeze, and the world is going to catch a cold.

Fri. Feb. 15, 2019 – just like that, another week gone

62F and pretty damp this am…

Going on 60Minutes and talking about your conspiracy to remove the President from office is a pretty big deal….taking steps to do so is treason. Either we take this sort of thing seriously and start locking people up, or it’s a free pass for anyone to give it a try.

Or, expect a series of cancer deaths, single vehicle crashes, and unexplained assaults…..

Whatever happens, the rest of the world powers will know about the attempt and make decisions based on that.

File this one under “Decline and Fall.”

Thur. Feb. 14, 2019 – The Feast of St. Valentine

53F and damp. No preconceived notion of what the day will be like. I’m opening myself to the universe today 😉

This is a good day to take special notice of your romantic loved one(s). Of course it should be year round, but no reason why we can’t benefit from a reminder. It’s easy to get caught up in the day to day of work, kids, prepping, collecting sportscars, or however you spend your precious life, and to forget why we do those things.

If like a friend of mine you can collect antique race cars and antique radios because you don’t have a romantic partner, well, there are advantages to that too!

Enjoy the day.

Wed. Feb. 13, 2019 – Friday the 13th falls on a Wednesday this month

Heat is running, and temps had dropped dramatically before I went to bed, so 70F is probably not correct… (dang batteries)

Great times to be alive, eh fellows? I mean, headlines like this — History’s 10 Most Culturally Significant Dick Pic Scandals What could more fully validate our innate male superiority? All those xers and zyrs are really gonna have to step up their game to have their genitals be culturally relevant…

Or maybe it’s time for the cleansing fire?

Tues. Feb. 12, 2019 – got alarm clocks?

59F and still wet. I think we got about one half inch of rain overnight.

Realized this morning that I’ve been using my cell phone as an alarm clock for about 9 years. Before that I still used a bedside alarm (clock radio). Wife has been using her phone exclusively for years, but not as long. My daughters have asked for clock radios as alarms to help them get up in the morning, which is what got me thinking about it in the first place.

The cell phone is a MUCH better alarm. Choose your tune, set multiples, use a tune that starts low and eases you awake, D/L your own choice of musical ring tone, etc. Given how cheap electronics are when you make them in the hundred million quantities, why has no one upgraded the alarm clock?

As a prepping thing, do you have any clocks that don’t require electricity? Wind up “kitchen” clocks are cheap. Ships clocks are a bit more. Wind up travel alarms are very cheap used. Battery operated clocks are widely available and cheap (but don’t keep great time.)

There are many reasons you might want to keep time, even if SHTF, changing watch cycles, meeting others, communicating at particular times, are all good reasons. Like other preps, having a variety of devices, fueled in different ways, is probably prudent.

And they are cheap and small, so why not?

Mon. Feb. 11, 2019 – short shrift today

66F and raining. NOAA forecast has been a bit more accurate the last couple of days. We’ll see if they get their mojo back.

I’ve got a mix of stuff to do today, and I think I’ll be driving a bit this morning, so I better get busy.

Sun. Feb. 10 2019 – not much rest…

51F and damp, with grey skies. Better than raining or cold.

Wife mentioned visiting the Eiffel tower yesterday, and I countered with “Paris is still burning, and right there on the Champs de Elysee.” She replied “Oh, the Facebook says that is no big deal and it isn’t really.”

Which is interesting in light of this– https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-02-09/graphic-photographers-hand-blown-police-grenade-during-yellow-vest-mayhem

‘cuz that sure looks like a lot of dangerous rioting to me, and you can clearly see the Arc in the background of many shots….

So if my wife, who does read other sources, including DailyMail, can gloss right over that, what do the other mostly NPC-types think? Or is the alt-media being manipulated? My personal vote is the FB is the one most slanting coverage, because the alt-media is reporting tweet pics, and photos from “ordinary people”, but how do we KNOW? The tweets can be by manipulators too.

This is the central problem in ‘mediated’ experiences, whether it’s a future experienced through AI and augmented reality, or simply distant events experienced through the lens of competing propaganda machines– who do you trust?

Sat. Feb. 9, 2019 – cold, I’m pretty sure

Currently, some sort of weather.

I’ve got my non-prepping hobby meeting today, so I’ve got to post this early, or get up earlier…and that probably won’t happen.

Followed by the last basketball game of the season, and then WORK. More work. and work.

So talk amongst yourselves….
