08:11 – Barbara and I didn’t bother watching the debate last night. Same old, same old. Instead, we watched The Walking Dead and the 1971 version of Upstairs, Downstairs.
We have science kit stuff to work on today as well as a couple minor things to get done on the LTS food storage.
14:21 – We just got back from a run down to Winston. Barbara and I both had dentist appointments. Afterward, we made a small Costco run. Not even enough to fill up the way-back of her compact car.
I think on one level this election is about the MSM vs. the alt-media. I bet there is a strong correlation between who you intend to vote for, and where you get your news.
I don’t know how anyone who has seen the videos available online could vote for sick Hillarrity or deny that there is an issue. Even now, twitter users have stumbled onto H’s weird rictus grin and head flop when she can’t think of a response. Might be too late though, but maybe they’ll see the alt reporting on her diseased life…
I think the tide is turning and the world is starting to see vulnerability in H. This will lead to ever increasing attacks/revelations as all the people who know/knew something but were afraid of her power to retaliate, will start releasing the truth as they see her power erode. The resulting spiral or cascade will just accelerate her decline. I don’t know if it will happen fast enough for this election, and if she makes it, there will be a bloodbath, both literally and figuratively as she settles the score.
anyway, the circus continues…
n
Well I watched the Dodger vs Cubs. I almost wish I had watched the debate.
RE: ” I bet there is a strong correlation between who you intend to vote for, and where you get your news. ”
My sister-in-law ONLY watches CNN and believes everything mindlessly. So she is a Hillary voter because she convinced that if Trump wins, her children will either die in a nuclear war or from having their health care taken away. Can’t understand that last one as her children are both working and get health care from their employers. But she is sure that Obamacare is the best solution and we should all be on it.
She is not completely stupid, she see the mess the country is in, just blames it on all the racists that have kept Obama from saving us all.
She says she wants to prepare but she can’t afford to build up a food stock because 1) her retired husband says it’s a waste of money he could be spending on golf and 2) he will only eat name-brand canned foods so she can’t shop at low cost stores like Aldies. Normalcy bias writ large …
“…didn’t bother watching the debate last night. Same old, same old. Instead, we watched The Walking Dead…”
You’re contradicting yourself.
I’ve decided to implement my own term limits starting today. I won’t vote for anyone that will have more than two terms. I don’t care if I like the person or not. You get two and that’s it. No crossovers either, ie., two terms as Gov and then run for Pres. I’m not standing for career politicians anymore. I’m already marking my sample ballot and will look up every local judge on it, too. Two and you are out.
@MrAtoz: I won’t vote for anyone that will have more than two terms.
Sounds right. I also check the careers of the people running, and strike out any lawyers as well as any farmers – there are way too many of both in parliament here. I figure they are supposed to be representative of the population, and that ought to mean a distribution of professions as well.
2) he will only eat name-brand canned foods so she can’t shop at low cost stores like Aldies
Me too. Green Giant, Bush, and Libbys are the only canned goods that I eat. Del Monte continuously has plant parts mixed in. Nothing tragic, just a separation issue while eating.

Hillary was definitely The Walking Dead. Trump was on fire doing a great job of holding himself back except for the “she is a nasty woman” remark. Which, is true by the way. Trump did look tired but he is performing four rallies a day right now. Pretty good for a 70 year old guy.
And he is going to need some new engines for that 757 after all this.

I don’t understand her attitude either. But the majority of the women outside Texas seem to be of this mindset.
We saw Sean Hannity talking with Rick Perry after the debate and my wife started yelling, “I want him ! I want him !”. I asked her what in the world she was talking about and she said that she wanted to vote for Rick Perry. We love Rick Perry in The Great State of Texas. I told my wife to vote for Trump then as there is a rumor floating around that he will be Trump’s Secretary of Defense.
We could do far worse such as that jerk Ashton Carter. The DOD is refusing to cover hospitalization of military reservists while on duty:
http://boston.cbslocal.com/2016/10/19/army-heart-attack-medical-bills-shane-morgan/
I like this comment, “But if he wants a sex change operation, they’ll pay for it.”
WRT KIllary talking about 4-minutes last night, the Navy I was in doesn’t need no 4-minutes. I doubt she has any idea what DEFCON Levels are for or how they are used in the various services.
I like this comment, “But if he wants a sex change operation, they’ll pay for it.”
The only way IMHO they can win not paying is if he wasn’t on Active Duty. If this was a sanctioned event, he was on AD and should get full coverage. Stop farting around DOD. We won’t have any reserves if this continues. Citing his cholesterol was ridiculous. If that was a valid concern, he should have been “Chaptered” out for non compliance of health requirements. The DOD did not, so he gets full coverage.
“Curious tilt of the sun traced to undiscovered planet”
http://phys.org/news/2016-10-curious-tilt-sun-undiscovered-planet.html
“”Because Planet Nine is so massive and has an orbit tilted compared to the other planets, the solar system has no choice but to slowly twist out of alignment,” says Elizabeth Bailey, a graduate student at Caltech and lead author of a study announcing the discovery.”
Huh, that is weird. I would have thought that we would have seen a “massive” planet at the edge of the solar system a long time ago.
Moochelle’s ass was blocking the scanners.
Just got back from the funeral. Military funeral with honors. Sobering to see all the grave sites at Fort Sam Houston. Another one of America’s finest generation. WWII, Korea and Viet Nam veteran serving in the Navy and USAF. Our current crop of politicians could learn something from that generation.

The wife and I went to the funeral for her uncle who was a Korean War veteran in Abilene a couple of years back. The new veterans cemetery has a space for her aunt next to him when she passes. The cemetery opened in 2009 and already had several thousand spaces in use in 2014 ?.
http://www.glo.texas.gov/vlb/cemeteries/locations/
And then the extended family may have a crisis. The aunt and uncle have a 55 ? year old daughter who is blind and retarded. Right now, the wife’s aunt and her daughter are living in Humble with the aunt’s younger sister who is only 75 or so. The aunt’s younger sister has pledged to take care of her niece if anything happens to the aunt.
The whole country is getting old.
“Ronald McDonald or Lucretia Borgia?: In the Long Run, We Are all Dead”
http://fredoneverything.org/ready-ronald-mcdonald-or-lucretia-borgia-in-the-long-run-we-are-all-dead/
“I frankly think her admirable. As she coughs, staggers, convulses, lies, pilfers, sells favors and lapses into intermittent confusion, she still has the courage to tell America that she loathes half of it. That´s candor.”
“Give her credit for consistency. She is always mendacious, firmly in the pockets of Wall Street, Israel, the Neocon hawks, and the arms industry, never having accomplished anything on her own, always riding Bill’s coattails, having a disastrous record as SecState, always for sale. With her, we know what we will get. With Trump, it’s a roll of very weird dice.”
“Ah, the Donald. While he unmistakably displays various presidential qualities–he can walk up stairs by himself, and his eyes usually point in the same direction–there is indeed a certain aleatory quality to the man. God knows what he might do. He shoots from the hip, saying all sorts of loopy but interesting things. Interesting if you live somewhere else. He talks unflatteringly about the other sex near open mikes, instead of away from them like everybody else.”
“The Donald merely makes me nervous, while Hillary makes me want to take poison. It is the difference between an acid trip and death by sinus drainage. His truly great strength is that he is not Hillary. The election is really a contest between placeholders for conflicting interests, for different views of the world. Few would want either if there were another choice.”
Wow.
The other day, my mom said Hillary was a tough old bird. From this I can only conclude that senility has finally overtaken my poor ol’ mom.
In other news, two of my coworkers* not only think Trump is a clown and support Clinton, but they deny that there’s ever been vote fraud (one of them) or that vote fraud has ever changed the result of an election (the other one). My reciting of half a dozen stolen elections were met with scornful laughter and claims that it didn’t count, it didn’t happen, and “show me evidence”, and refusal to accept any listed evidence because “everyone knows they have an agenda” or “that’s been debunked”. I was unaware that “la la la I can’t hear you!” constitutes debunking, but then I’m not suited to be a Hillary supporter because I haven’t had three botched lobotomies.
On the plus side, if Crooked Hillary “wins” in a few weeks, I think I know at least one person who’s going to fall down a long flight of stairs. I’m a peaceable soul and would never wish harm to anyone, but karma has a way of catching up to people, particularly including people who piss me off. And if such a person is a woman who goes well over 300 pounds and is pushing 50 (and looks like she’s pushing 60), well karma won’t have to work too hard.
* Not quite, but accurately describing the relationship would take too many words.
Oh the horror. If the voters don’t exceed the margin of cheat, we’re fucked.

“‘She is a sassy angel come to bless us all!’ Twitter users go gaga for Hillary Clinton’s suffragette-inspired white suit worn at the third and final debate ”
That right there is why we’re doomed. SOMEONE actually said this, and it got reported as a Good Thing(tm) instead of getting that person involuntarily committed.
And the fawning media licked the crust from their chins and vomited up the comments about it being “suffragette-inspired” with a call out to a previous outfit. NO ONE said it was MAO inspired or reminiscent of Kim Il Jun’s wardrobe, which have the advantage of both being TRUE, and being more widely recognized cultural signifiers than something she wore half a decade ago.
So yeah, doomed.
n
This is exactly why the election process is rigged. Wikileaks shows the MSM is in the establishments pocket. Cankles panders to Boobus (who believes without doubt) then does the opposite. The GOP Redumblicans disavow their own candidate. They claim tRump is full of shit saying “rigged”. He doesn’t mean the machines are rigged, he means the establishment is fucking us over to stay in power. More big gooberment, more taxes, more spending on welfare and more wars. When you read Podesta saying what’s the problem with illegals voting as long as they have a drivers licenses, you know it’s over. No wonder the Dumbocrats fight tooth snd nail for absolutely no ID required to vote. I’m sure all those Syrian fukstik immigrants already have drivers licenses given to them and will ride in Cankles bus to vote. Game over, man, game over.
” ‘They Don’t Have Anywhere Else to Go’
A stint as a teacher for troubled kids gave a writer hard-earned insight into problems lying beneath North Carolina’s shiny exterior.”
http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/10/north-carolina-winston-salem-what-works-schools-214378
“This was my first day as a teacher at Griffith Academy, a public alternative school in North Carolina for students who’d been thrown out of their regular schools for fighting, drugs or bringing weapons. Griffith’s purpose was to teach and rehabilitate them so that they could return to their home schools in six or eight weeks. Its motto was, “A School of Opportunity.” I was 29 years old and hopped up on the new president’s campaign slogan. I’d been a newspaper journalist to that point, and that summer I’d worked on a project interviewing gang members serving life sentences for murder. They all had heartbreaking childhoods—eating paltry dinners with no parents, falling in with criminals because they were the only company around—so I started to believe I could do more to help if I met people like them before they went to jail.”
I had no idea that Winston-Salem was such a freaking disaster. And just about all of our large and medium size cities look like this.
Yup, Hillary is gonna fix all this. Just like Obama did.
The stuff on Griffith Academy prompts me to ask: do military-style boarding schools still exist in the US? That’s really the only kind of place where out-of-control kids have a chance of learning to be functioning members of civilization. Obviously, you need some real hard-cases running the place, too, with a pretty free hand.
Probably not possible in SJW America. So you get another generation of illiterate gang members.
I’m starting to wonder how watered down military boot camp is now. A family friend washed out so it hasn’t gone completely soft. Although I am concerned because he got past the recruiting process. His mother is a moron, and he’s the brightest relative she has. I generally try to avoid his mother because it reduces the chances I will say something impolite.
I’m sure it’s gone downhill a great deal.
As I’ve mentioned before, when I was a high-school senior in 1970, my gym teacher was a former USMC drill instructor. He administered the USMC physical fitness test to all of us. Push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, and rope climbing in the gym, as well as a one-mile run out on the track. I scored the maximum possible, and in fact went beyond the minimal requirements for a top score. And I remember thinking at the time that those requirements were pretty minimal. As a serious tennis player, I was in good shape compared to the average, but I wasn’t doing strength exercises or any kind of calisthenics.
And I’m sure it’s gotten a lot more lax, especially for girls. IIRC, at the time it was an extremely rare girl who could do even one real pull-up or one real push-up. I’ve since met women who were much better at physical feats, including one young woman who thought nothing of doing ten real pull-ups, one-handed. Of course, she was a serious rock climber.
The young girls in my daughter’s gymnastics class are nothing but muscle. They do stuff that frankly astonishes me.
n
Yeah, rock climbers and gymnasts are exceptions, but I’d still bet that probably 90%+ of high school girls could not do one real push-up or pull-up to save their lives. Of course, nowadays I’m not sure I could either.
