08:27 – More work around the house today. Barbara finished packing up and storing the Christmas stuff and vacuuming/dusting upstairs. Now she has the finished area downstairs to do. I’ll be working on kit stuff.

We’ve been watching World War II in HD Colour on Netflix streaming. It’s a pretty decent documentary series. One thing that struck me was the repeated footage of Hitler standing in a Mercedes driving through crowds of thousands of cheering people. I wonder why Obama doesn’t do that. Probably because he knows he isn’t as well-liked by his people as the murderous Nazi dictator was.

Winter has arrived in Sparta. It was 22F when I took Colin out the first time this morning, with heavy frost on the ground. More of the same for the next several days.

    Nicely put.

Though I’ll point out that it wasn’t totally foolhardy of Hitler. The Nazis implemented strict gun control early on. Yet another similarity between the National Socialists and the Modern American Socialists.

It was mentioned yesterday on Instapundit that The World at War is available on Amazon Prime streaming. If you have not seen it, the BBC made it in the early 70s and got interviews with quite a few of the participants on both sides in the war.

I also checked and saw that the NBC series Victory at Sea made in the early 50s is also available. It’s also quite excellent.

  3. OFD says:

Thanks for those tips, Mr. ech; I also seem to recall a PBS/BBC? series made back around then on World War I and I haven’t been able to find it anywhere again. I saw it when it came out, and we still had VHS tapes but if I recorded it, it’s long gone now.

Overcast, temps in the low thirties, but a strong and steady wind dropping the “RealFeel” temp significantly lower. We’re expecting single digits Monday and Tuesday and no sign of snow. We really hope this ain’t the third winter in a row of bitter cold and Siberian winds with hardly any friggin’ snow.

“‘He will take America into the abyss of hell’: Nation of Islam’s Louis Farrakhan hits out at Trump for ‘exacerbating country’s race situation'”

Race baiter Farrakhan calling the kettle black- without so much as a mention of his history in the article. BTW, isn’t his skin getting lighter?

WTF is up with the ‘lifestyle’ pieces on Obolla? What he eats for lunch? What he’s reading on vacation? (which is poorly written crap- 3 Body Problem is really bad.) Him kissing babies in the white house?

and the inadvertent revelation that it’s one big club and you ain’t in it: “REVEALED: How Chelsea and Ivanka’s friendship has become ‘strained’ over Hillary and Trump’s jabs at one another”

‘course all that’s softened by some soft core porn featuring the 18yo body of one of the jenner/big-ass-ian clan.

    Oh, and cat pictures.

  6. OFD says:

“BTW, isn’t his skin getting lighter?”

Yo, he gon be lighter than Donald real soon now, at this rate. It’s a stone laff riot to read the genuine historical stuff on the Nation of Islam and how it all started and went forward from there; yet another wacky friggin’ cult. Malcolm X was showing signs of waking the hell up back in the day and being rational, so they killed him.

“…the inadvertent revelation that it’s one big club and you ain’t in it…”

Ha. I’d remind them of several other exclusive clubs over the centuries that regular ol’ folks wasn’t allowed to be in; say, for example, the in-crowd peeps at Versailles in circa 1788-89, or hell, our own Tories and Loyalists in Maffachufetts, Philadelphia and Manhattan back in the day.

    “Oh, and cat pictures.”

Now c’mon, son; ain’t nuthin’ wrong with cat pictures….

Obola, Fartinacan, Jackwagon and now Sharpless “throw Rahm out”. Even libturd WHITEY!s are getting short shrift. Black Americans should be very afraid as Asians and Latinos overpass them making them a teeny minority in Murka. Why do we put up with it? Oh, year, Ofukstik and his ilk want to crush WHITEY! for reparations and Sharia. Soapbox off.

  8. OFD says:

quomodo delectamentum …when the Revolution eats its young. Nothing more gratifying than to see libturd ass-hats being hoisted on their own petards when more radical ass-hats start screaming and carrying torches and pitchforks.

Asians have zero use for Afrikan-Murkans or Latinos, or us, for that matter. They seem to pay no attention whatsoever to all the grievance whores’ and pimps’ shenanigans.

Good luck on the reparations and sharia; tens of millions of pissed off WHITEYs out here now, getting more pissed by the day, and many of them, so I’ve heard, of that nasty Anglo-Saxon and/or Celtic background, which can be very dangerous, or so I’ve heard….

My guess is that in the near-term future, i.e., five-ten years, the cities will explode out into the suburbs and exurbs from the built-up pressure, desperation and panic, which will, of course, produce more of the same. Obola, et. al. will by then be forgotten old fogies and the New Revolutionaries will make the old Black Panthers and the very late Nat Turner look like a day at the beach. The government may try to co-opt them against the rest of us, though, so watch out! Reparations can also mean taking over real estate belonging to the hated class, as we have seen in our own War of Independence, and by more recent capers in Zimbabwe (formerly the safe and fairly prosperous nation of Rhodesia) and Germany, with the incoming waves of hadji scum.

You’ll hear some noise in the street some lazy summer afternoon and you’ll look out the window and see a couple of APCs taking positions at either end of the street, as a couple of buses roll in and a few dozen “underclass” “families” pile out with their luggage. You’re now told you have an hour to get your chit and get out.

    Haha!

Looks like the Sauddii embassy in Iran is burning.

    REAP WHAT YOU SOW, scumbags.

    nick

  10. OFD says:

That must be due to the Soddies whacking (executing) around fifty or so fellow scumbags the past couple of days, and the Iranian version scumbags were mightily peeved, hahahaha…again, it’s quite entertaining to watch all these bastards going after each other. Apparently, besides the usual beheading, one of the Soddie methods still in use is crucifixion. Imagine that! What great pals they are, though, eh? Walking hand in hand on that Texas ranch, our current sock puppet bowing to them right and left, and them being the religion of peace, of course. Boffo laffs!

  11. MrAtoz says:

I wonder if the MooSoddies will cry to Obola for help when attacked by Iran? This could get goooooood!

  13. OFD says:

Hey, they’ve got all the jet fighters and spec ops training we either gave or sold to them; they can handle it themselves. But I wouldn’t put it past Barry to send our own spec ops and/or ground troops and air cover to them anyway. Imagine that: our guys getting killed to defend people who fund the scum who kill our guys and also defenseless men, women and children around the world. Typical Murkan political leadership for a very long time now; our taxes fund the wounding, injuries and deaths of our own children.

_Home: A Stranded Novel_ by Theresa Shaver
    http://www.amazon.com/Home-Stranded-Novel-Theresa-Shaver/dp/1484928547/

Book number three of a four book series. Young adult apocalyptic series in trade paperback (Amazon POD book, 222 pages). I have also bought book number four. Warning, this is not a child series as there is rape, murder, and extreme violence throughout the story line.

A group of 26 Canadian teenagers and their four chaperones get stranded in Disneyland after the USA is EMP’d. Five go home to Alberta over land. Five go home to Alberta over the sea. Nine make it home.

But, their small home town situation sucks as a large gang has taken over the town and is running everything now after murdering the mayor and city council. Now they have to take the town back and free their families.

My rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Amazon rating: 4.6 out of 5 stars (161 reviews)

This is happening in South Africa right now. Won’t happen here in the USA, too many guns. Instead, they will build PRCs (public residential complexes) for the underclasses.

  16. OFD says:

It’s been talked about here outside of using PRCs; moving UC derps straight into previously WHITEY-dominated ‘hoods, like it or not, basically enforced integration on a major scale, but it’s not just working and middle-class UC derps, it’s the scumbags and FSA parasites. They tried the PRCs in major cities here before, the projects in Boston, NYC, Chicago, etc., and they were turned into nightmarish infernos within a few years. After regular vibrant neighborhoods were torn down and destroyed to do it.

South Afrika, Zimbabwe, etc.; all turning straight into cannibal infernos like the rest of the continent after the evil white bastards were kicked out or left of their own accord from utter despair.

    Hey Trumpeteers!

    http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2016/01/here_are_the_states_where_trump_is_strongest_and_weakest.html

Vermont has no interest in him, of course, ’cause we got the wunnerful Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders, who spent his honeymoon in Moscow! Where’d you spend YOUR honeymoon, mes amis? We did ours on Grand Manaan Island, off the international border between O Kanada and the U.S. of Amnesia; our b&b hostess encouraged us to put dulse on our aiigggss.

Bernie did good stuff for us vets here and elsewhere but he’s gone all waffly on guns and is otherwise a disaster. Just a little sideshow for the rubes, that’s all.

But the Repub hierarchy, unless they can dump Trump, may actually have to nominate him and it would be between him and Cankles. What fun! Wheeeeeeee!

  18. Miles_Teg says:

Trump might take your guns, Cankles *will* take your guns.

Hope you enjoy staying at home in November.

  20. OFD says:

“Hope you enjoy staying at home in November.”

Yup, except for a short walk over to the town hall to vote in the LOCAL election. Period.

    “Or with Dick Cheney”

Bob Rivers has a parody song you can find online about that incident based on an Aerosmith tune: “Cheney’s Got a Gun.”

Even as a non American type person, the negative bias against Trump via the internet and other media is quite evident.. Someone’s PR dept. is working overtime..!

  22. Miles_Teg says:

Trump *is* nuts. Better than Obola and Cankles, but still nuts.

I’m still hoping for one of the non-lunatic fringe Republicans, or even Bernie.

Off for a few days vacation, leaving the house in the care of our – now all grown up – boys… Still feels strange, being able to do that, but pretty cool, too.

Hitler: A few years ago, I heard one of his rants being played on TV, as part of some WWII special. I remember hearing them occasionally as a kid, but this time it was really weird, because I could understand him (having learned German in the meanwhile).

That said, the speech was very much one of “you had to be there”. He was so wound up, so overly emotional, that it seemed ridiculous. From 70 years away. I’m sure it would have been very different, then, and there.

the inadvertent revelation that it’s one big club and you ain’t in it: “REVEALED: How Chelsea and Ivanka’s friendship has become ‘strained’ over Hillary and Trump’s jabs at one another”

Yep, although it’s no surprise that they know each other. If it is actually true that they aren’t getting along, that’s at least a sign that there are genuinely different factions in the clubhouse. Dems/Repubs are very much the same faction any more.

Apropos of nothing, but it is striking that those are two remarkably unattractive women, especially when you consider that they have prepared themselves for a public appearance.

“Trump *is* nuts. Better than Obola and Cankles, but still nuts.”

    Exactly this.

  24. OFD says:

“I’m still hoping for one of the non-lunatic fringe Republicans, or even Bernie.”

Why do you even care? You live in Oz. The other Repubs are RINO clowns who wouldn’t do anything much different from Obola. Bernie is a “Democratic Socialist” who spent his honeymoon in Moscow. None of them give a tinker’s dam for Oz or NZ. And all of them would continue to foment overseas wars at the behest of banksters and energy companies and arms merchants, and continue ramping up the police state here at home. We’re not gonna end up like Oz or the UK, and sit here completely disarmed while foreign invaders roll over us, you can count on it.

  25. Miles_Teg says:

We’re doing better than the US at repelling foreign invaders, and most of our politicians have the wit to realise that that’s what their voting public wants. Unlike the US and Europe elites.

  26. OFD says:

Oh OK; that must be why you feel the need to lecture us on our political processes and exhort us to vote; I get it now. You have a superior system there and merely wish us to get up to speed. But I seem to recall we repelled foreign invaders, twice, if memory serves, quite a long time ago, and we’re no longer under their yoke. Eventually we’ll have another such rebellion here, as we’re starting to see in “old” Europe, and we’ll have to do the job again.

  27. DadCooks says:

IMHO you guys have no basis to complain if you do not vote. Who says you have to vote for someone on the ballot, write in someone/something. If the 70% who do not now vote would write someone/something there would be a statistic that actually might be heard. Apathy gets you nothing but more of the same.

The last election here I and my entire family wrote in “None of the Above” and I encourage others to do the same. It forces a hand count on the ballots and the numbers of “None of the Above” votes has been steadily increasing.

WA State is 100% mail-in ballot so all excuses have been taken away. I gather ballots from a few folks in my neighborhood and drop them off at the ballot box in the County Auditor’s Office.

Ancient history Dave. Admit it, the US would be better off being run from Whitehall by a few hundred bureaucrats than the current system.

“Who says you have to vote for someone on the ballot, write in someone/something. If the 70% who do not now vote would write someone/something there would be a statistic that actually might be heard. Apathy gets you nothing but more of the same.”

I’ve done that in the past, writing in Patrick J. Buchanan a couple of times. Or myself locally for cemetery commissioner. With all due respect, it’s not apathy anymore; it’s lack of interest and energy to participate in a rank charade that means nothing at the state and national levels except to validate their continued depredations and more such charades. I DO, vote, however, in the local town elections here, because I know and can see firsthand that it can, in fact, make a difference, and I can go face to face with the local town officials, elected and appointed anytime I want. I also attend Town Meeting day here in Vermont and keep track of the goings-on accordingly.

But anyone ought to be able to see by now that our national and state systems are irretrievably broken, and more and more people do see that and won’t play the rulers’ games anymore. Again, with all due respect, we’ve been over this ground many times before on this board and we’re apparently not changing anybody’s minds on the subject.

“Admit it, the US would be better off being run from Whitehall by a few hundred bureaucrats than the current system.”

Let’s see, you live in Australia, and purport to know quite a lot about the improvement that rule by Whitehall bureaucrats would entail for us here over our current system. In typical liberal and big government fashion, your solution is to replace our own bureaucrats with English bureaucrats; I believe we tried that remedy for a while and it eventually broke down and they had to be shown the door. Twice. Other British colonies seem to not have worried about it overmuch and are apparently happy with their rights being squashed repeatedly and being disarmed. So be it. You’ve made your bed and are lying in it, but how do you presume to prescribe any solutions for our broken system when you don’t live here and are thousands of miles away? The countries are WAY different in how we approach these matters, as you will see. With all due respect.

  30. lynn says:

Because the rest of the world knows that if things go entirely teats up, Uncle Sam will come bail them out.

Admit it, the US would be better off being run from Whitehall by a few hundred bureaucrats than the current system.

Um, no. The UK is in horrible shape, almost as bad as Germany.

The one thing better about the USA system is that we have an opportunity to change out the entire staff running the place every four years.

There will not always be a Britain.

  31. OFD says:

“Because the rest of the world knows that if things go entirely teats up, Uncle Sam will come bail them out.”

Them days are gone. We don’t have the money or the will or the compassion anymore. What we do have is $200 trillion in debt. We can’t even bail out ourselves, and the next time the financial speculators shit their pants, it’s quite clear that we can’t pull that rabbit outta the hat again and bail out the big boys like we did last time. “Too big to fail.” Not anymore. Next time is the end.

“There will not always be a Britain.”

Not as such. There will be an island country once again composed of warring tribes; my money is on the Anglo-Saxons and Celts, long term.
