08:51 – Barbara took today and tomorrow off work. She’s headed out on a day trip to North Wilkesboro with Bonnie Richardson. They probably won’t be back in time for dinner, so Colin and I will share roast beast sandwiches.

More kit stuff today.

So is Barbara getting ready to retire / quit her job when you relocate? I guess that you will get a full time assistant XXXXXXXXX Manufacturing Manager for kit production then.

Yep. Exactly. But with unlimited time off when she wants to do whatever she wants, including travel. I’m nervous when she’s far from home, but she loves to travel.

A trip to Europe would be in order. Nine hours in an aluminum tube kept aloft because there are more air molecules banging on the bottom of the wing than the top of the wing.

The 787s are carbon fiber tubes.

OFD ain’t been in a commercial aircraft in 21 years now. But if I had the dough, I might take flying lessons over on the Islands up here, and a trip to Europe has not been ruled out by me and Mrs. OFD before we croak. We’d like to see some of it before the hadji hordes have taken it over completely and installed total sharia. I’m mainly interested in visiting Vienna and Budapest; zero interest in the UK, though my ancestors came from there nearly 400 years ago. She says Ireland would be nice; I dunno.

“carbon fiber tubes.” Ooooh. Even better. Works great right up until it fails, and no real track record….

    What could possibly go wrong?

Sparks images of the remnants of burning logs to keep warm. I get the cheap flights so none of the new stuff yet for me on my trips to Europe.
