By on December 9th, 2014 in news, science kits

09:48 – We shipped nine science kits yesterday, and three so far today. At this rate, and with two weeks worth of Christmas orders yet to come, we’re going to be down to nothing pretty quickly.

With rioting continuing, I’m afraid this is going to become the norm. These idiots don’t realize what they’re doing. The cops are going to continue shooting young black men, because young black men commit lots of violent crimes, including rioting, looting, and arson. As more young black men are killed by police, the rioting will intensify, and more cops are likely to face legal sanctions, exacerbating the us-versus-them mindset already held by most cops. Eventually, cops, fire, EMS, and other emergency personnel will simply refuse to enter areas populated by the underclass. It’s happened before, and it will happen again. Why risk being killed or shooting in self-defense and facing criminal charges and ruinous lawsuits? If politicians don’t support the police, why should the police support the politicians?

And when it does happen, those areas will become chaotic. We’ll have gang rule, and the decent people who live in those areas–and most of them are decent people–will have no protection from the warlords. Businesses will completely abandon the lawless areas–many of them already have–and government services and utilities will become spotty to non-existent. Power company linemen don’t get combat pay, nor meter readers. Buildings will be left to burn to the ground, and calls to EMS will go unanswered. Is this really what these idiots want? Welcome to the third world.

    “Welcome to the third world.”

    There it is.

There are many inner-city areas in the U.S. where it’s no-go for cops and firefighters and have been for years. Cops go in with multiple units, armed with selective-fire M4’s and for the big capers, ground-air support. Most of us never see this sort of thing and most of the country has already written these places off, anyway and likes it that way.

You can get a preview of how it’s gonna be from watching how it works in Turd World cities around the globe, as down in Brazil, for instance; if there are high-profile visitors and/or events expected, the cops go in and simply sweep the streets in the favelas, blowing away whoever they feel like blowing away. By the hundreds.

It’s gonna be interesting to watch; at what point do the military and police refuse to do their jobs anymore? Sure, in the inner cities. But what if the riots and traffic blockages and INCONVENIENCE start happening regularly in the “nice” ‘hoods, the suburbs, and the exurbs?

Just how far will the rioters be allowed to go? And how much force will be allowed, eventually, by the cops and military to shut them down?

    Calibration in progress, stay tuned.

Overcast here and snow expected to start within a few hours.

It might be time for folks to refresh themselves with Rudyard Kipling’s The Gods of the Copybook Headings:

Kipling was, and is, among my regular reading, since I was a mere lad growing up in the outer Boston ‘burbs. And I watch “The Man Who Would Be King” every year.

Genuine Murkan folks also ought to refresh their understanding, should it have once existed, of the Federalist and Anti-Federalist writings and the original Articles of Confederation. But I have pretty much given up on the latter ever happening and get ridiculed regularly for even bringing them up. And that’s in “right-wing” online circles!

I’m afraid we’re in for a very long and hard road ahead, generations long, including a complete reboot of the existing political/economic/social system. It’s not like Americans are exempt from history and the strictures of the Copybook Headings.

    Generations long…

It would be really fascinating to be able to step out of time and see how the 20th and 21st century are documented in the history books of the future. Also to see what sort of society and government develops – if the future understands and uses the lessons we think we are learning.

Ditto. Unfortunately, little surprises me anymore. It takes truly amazing stupidity to get my attention. But I have hope: It seems some people are expanding the limits of stupidity every day!

  7. OFD says:

“…I thought he was way out in left field.”

More like way out in right field.

But that’s OK in OFD’s book.

All anyone has to do is the math. Simple arithmetic. This system is no longer sustainable, not with $18 trillion in debt, crumbling national infrastructure, a rapacious and increasingly totalitarian, yet incompetent and inefficient government, a dumbed-down and illiterate, innumerate populace, and financial speculators enabled by government and lawyers playing all kinds of insane games with our fiat paper currency and shifting gold stocks all over the planet.

Does anyone here seriously think fracking or solar energy will fix this? How about the latest RINO ass-hat as a potential savior? A tiny core of Mr. Wizard and Mr. Fix-it scientists, engineers and mechanics?

It’s too far gone, no matter the latest nooz agitprop about the newly “robust” or “solid” Murkan economy or that these recent elections are our new hope. Last word on that, incidentally, is that the usual suspect RINO types have sided with Pelosi and the Dems to shut out “conservatives” and any gun rights advocates, as to be expected. Sorta like those “Tea Party” buffoons and carny barkers who went to Washington with all sorts of promises, imbibed the noxious vapors there, and became left-zombified.

Heinlein & Co. and other futurist prognosticators didn’t foresee the enormity of what we face in the near future; a colossal nation-empire of 330 million, awash in weaponry, and completely dependent on fossil energy generating the electricity to make it all run. Nor did they foresee the extent to which our currency has become utterly debased and the level of sheer ignorance of our population.

Hang on for a fun ride!

This is what happens when illegal immigration runs rampant in a country. Our social services, schools and other public services are overwhelmed. The poorer classes are being affected most and feel that it is racism. When the real problem is too many people at the bottom taking all the entry level jobs, services, etc, etc, etc.

This will get worse before it gets better. Eventually, you will be required to pay for everything you use. The sad thing is that it is destroying our world class medical system in the name of equality. I still believe that we, the USA, have the world’s best medical system. This may not be true in ten years.

BTW, I do business in about fifty countries at the moment. The world financial system is getting more and more hostile by the day. We are battling with a Greek client at the moment for payment and I am beginning to wonder if we will ever see our money.

I won’t argue that they are all ass-hats. However, I have no idea what a “real” Republican is. The Republicans are in favor of a police state where they take my money and give it to large corporations, the military-industrial complex and their other bribers supporters. They want to control what I do in private with another consenting adult. Not too many really interested in small government.

The Democrats are in favor of a police state where they take my money and give it large corporations, the military-industrial complex, labor unions, trial lawyers and others who want to suck at the government tit. They want to control my wallet, my speech and my gun rights.

    Great choice between the two.

  12. OFD says:

As I’ve said many times, there ain’t a dime’s worth of difference between the two halves of our Murkan War Party, the Stupid Half and the Evil Half.

Genuine conservatives can be found at the Rockford Institute, Chronicles Magazine, and occasionally the American Conservative magazine and Lew Rockwell’s site. We’re known as “paleoconservatives,’ which gives the idea that we’re about to become extinct. Or nearly so. If I, for example, express any of their precepts and ideas to the run-of-the-mill Dem or Repub voter in this country it is as though I’m speaking with an alien entity from another star system, or vice-versa, of course. Mention historical matters and their eyes glaze over. Like that found on their favorite pastries. And the light thereof only responds to pixels not text.

“This is what happens when illegal immigration runs rampant in a country.”

B-b-b-b-but they do it out of LOVE. Jeb Bush or somebody said so. Ain’t he gon be the next Prez? Habla Espanol, hermano?

“The world financial system is getting more and more hostile by the day.”

Of course it is, and why shouldn’t it? You see the Sovereign Man site’s info on this, amirite? Our gummint and financial institutions specialize in busting everybody else’s ballz out there and now they’re getting sick and tired of it.

    No chit, hombre.

“I just hope no one comes along to make the trains run on time.”

People will BEG for such a guy. And then rejoice in their “deliverance.”

“Maybe it’s time I should think about arming myself.”

Naw, that’s what the police are for, Grasshopper; when seconds count….etc…

And the parents of the murdered children in Newtown, CT are preparing to sue Bushmaster, the school board, and the estate, such as it may be, of the perp kid’s mom, herself deceased by his murderous little paws. Their group and other anti-gun groups love to wave the bloody shirts and hold up pictures of children but are clueless as to what’s coming around the bend soon enough in this country.

I tell you peeps will get down on their knees and beg for someone to make the trains run on time; he or she probably won’t speak German or Italian, but I’m guessing they *will* have some historical knowledge and be savvy as to how these things work. I see no one on the horizon yet who would fit this role.

I saw this book for sale and Jeb Bush immediately lost my vote. I will vote for Monica Lewinsky’s former boyfriend’s wife first. At least I know for a fact that in her eyes that I am worthless. With Jeb Bush, it will depend on which side of the bed that he rolled out of that morning. And, I love his older brother dearly but he crossed the line on spending.

Isn’t it U.S. gummint policy not to negotiate with terrorists?

Or does that only apply selectively, per usual?

I got some demands of my own. And if they’re not met by midnight I’m gonna…I’m gonna…well I’m gonna hold my breath until I pass out. I might even get annoyed. Irritated, even.

Apropos of not very much at all, we accidentally started watching “James May’s Cars of the People” yesterday. And couldn’t stop. This was a BBC program where James May looked into the origins and history of a bunch of different cars produced for the masses. If you have an hour to watch, I can only recommend it.

The most fascinating bit was about the VW bug. I had no idea that the original bug was planned by Hitler, part of the “Kraft durch Freude” (power through happiness) movement – which was also supposed to be the name of the car (presumably KDF instead of VW).

Anyhow, Hitler promised the masses that every family would finally be able to own a car. All they had to do was save 5 Marks a week – they would hand over their money to some government office and get a stamp to stick in a book. When the book was full – which would take a couple of years – they could go pick up their car. At the same time, he was building the huge car factory, and even had a couple of prototypes running around, so this was all very believable.

Well, sure enough, all that money was going into the factory, but it never produced a single car. Instead, before anyone could possible have their book full, he turned on the factory, it started churning out military vehicles, and WWII was launched. So the whole thing was a gigantic fraud on his own population.

After the war, the original plans were rediscovered, the factory was rebuilt and offered as “reparations” to western car companies. All of whom said “no thanks, that’s worthless”. So the factory was given to the local government, and went on to be the foundation for VW, Porsche and other “worthless” German car brands.

Certainly an aspect of WWII history that I had never heard…
