08:24 – Barbara got a phone call around 9:00 last night from Pam, her mom’s caregiver. Pam reported that Sankie was doing very badly, and apparently in pain. Barbara told her to call Hospice, who would send someone out to see Sankie and determine if she needed to be moved to the Hospice facility. We haven’t heard back from Hospice, so apparently the visiting nurse was able to administer pain medication and get Sankie stabilized. Barbara didn’t sleep very well last night, anticipating a call that didn’t come. With Sankie not eating and no longer able to speak, I suspect it’s not going to be much longer.

Tip for downloading YouTube videos: If the show an ad before the clip you want, let the ad run all the way through. Don’t click the Skip button. Since I figured that out, I’ve had no problem with saving videos. Conversely, when I skip the ads, the downloader usually either sees nothing to grab or gets the ad.
If it matters (and it probably does) I’m using Firefox 20.0 on Ubuntu with Shockwave Flash 11.2 and Flash Video Downloader 5.8.1. Firefox and Flash are pretty old, but the FVD is current, or nearly so.
I actually have 4 different YouTube download add-ons installed …
1.) Youtube and more – Easy Video Downloader 1.97.25
2.) Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express 7.22
3.) Best Video Downloader 2 1.2.1
4.) YouTube Caption Downloader 2.3
Sometimes when one won’t work, one of the other ones will.
I’m currently using Firefox 23.0 for Ubuntu canonical.
I’m still using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my Toshiba laptop that I use to go online (came with Windows XP back when I first bought it – 2006).
